Movie Moan: Even Hugh Jackman Can Be A Douche!

And if it's coming from the lips of Jackman acolyte Queen Kristina then you can certainly believe it.  Both Kris and Jamie have endured 'Real Steel' and can't wait to tell you why it fails so spectacularly.

Phil doesn't do much better for quality control by reviewing 'Johnny English Reborn', surely the most un-requested sequel ever made.  So Jamie adds a touch of class by giving his brief thoughts on 'The Ides Of March' and '50/50'.

Following on from last week's predictions over which classic animated features Disney would re-release in 3D, the studio has chosen 'Beauty And The Beast' and Phil tells them what a stupid mistake they've made.

Jamie rolls his eyes one more time over the news of the belated 'Arrested Development' movie and we once again pray for 'The Simpsons' to die with dignity as it continues to limp on for another two years.

Finally, 'the moan of the week' comes courtesy of Jamie; Brian DePalma's 'Blow Out'.

    Movie Moan: Top Gun............IN 3D?

This is the first time Phil has heard the news but it adds credence to his theory that, thanks to the success of 'The Lion King 3D', Disney are going to be re-releasing a lot more of their classic animated films in the same format over the next few years.  Jamie, Ed and Kristina throw in their two cents, the latter having revisited her favorite film of all time this week.

Plus, we bemoan the latest studio strategy of DVD/Blu Ray double dipping as 'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon' is released completely bare bones with the promise that the 'proper' version will be on the way soon.  We also decide which director of those short-listed is best suited to bring the new version of 'The Twilight Zone' to the silver screen.

Finally, Kristina punishes the rest of us on 'the moan of the week' by choosing 'The Ballad Of Jack And Rose'for us to discuss.  Phil and Jamie don't mince words about it.

Movie Moan: The Furious Fist Of Taylor Lautner

It's a course in 'Acting Shatner 101' as Jamie takes us through the bounty of emotions and expressions Taylor Lautner blesses us with in his sure to be nominated performance in 'Abduction'.

As well as that, Phil belatedly reviews 'Warrior', we give our thoughts on the new trailers for 'J. Edgar' and 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', lambaste the recent marketing for 'The Muppets', and entertain the notion of a 'Scarface' remake (of a remake).

Finally, it's the welcome return of 'the moan of the week' and we take a look at the precusor to 'Drive', Michael Mann's 'Thief'.

Movie Moan: The Balcony Is Open

On this week's show, you can forget that 'At The Movies With Siskel & Ebert' ever ended.  Since our show is nothing but wall to wall reviews, we do our best to take you back in time to a simpler place where people actually cared what critics had to say about films and replicate those classic shows courtesy of Gene and Roger.

Will it be thumbs up or thumbs down to 'Contagion', 'Drive', and 'Warrior'?  Which of the those three will be chosen by Ed and Jamie as the best film of the year so far?

Plus, Phil reviews the much anticipated film adaptation of 'Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy' a good three months before it hits US theatres.

Finally, Phil and Ed's 'video pick of the week' is the awesome documentary 'Best Worst Movie', which takes the dumbest premise possible and turns it into one of the best films you will ever see about the fleeting and seducing power of fame.

    Movie Moan: George's New Vandalism

Well we had to eventually jump on the bandwagon bemoaning the changes made to the original 'Star Wars' trilogy.  But this is the only place on the internet whose views are officially backed by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (all the more amazing considering one of them is no longer with us).  Just watch the opening of the show and you'll see what I mean.

In addition to Phil and Jamie pointlessly bitching about George Lucas' continuing insanity (and Kristina sensibly telling them to get over it), we also talk about the possibility of Eddie Murphy being the host of the next Academy Awards ceremony, debate the future and longevity of the comic book movie, and pick our personal best and worst individual films of the summer 2011 season.

Finally, be sure to check out the Ed Hocken 'Movie of the Week'; 'Los Angeles Plays Itself', part 1 of which can be viewed right here.
