Movie Moan: George's New Vandalism
Well we had to eventually jump on the bandwagon bemoaning the changes made to the original 'Star Wars' trilogy. But this is the only place on the internet whose views are officially backed by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (all the more amazing considering one of them is no longer with us). Just watch the opening of the show and you'll see what I mean.
In addition to Phil and Jamie pointlessly bitching about George Lucas' continuing insanity (and Kristina sensibly telling them to get over it), we also talk about the possibility of Eddie Murphy being the host of the next Academy Awards ceremony, debate the future and longevity of the comic book movie, and pick our personal best and worst individual films of the summer 2011 season.
Finally, be sure to check out the Ed Hocken 'Movie of the Week'; 'Los Angeles Plays Itself', part 1 of which can be viewed right here.

Hey WB, you want Wonder Woman to work, it needs 2 things.
1. Ignore the marvel formula of making a comic book movie first and make it a film. Please ignore that TV show all these celebs keep talking about and give it an original take. Make it more with Xena's tone as opposed to some lady in yellow and blue stars spinning around in heals. Christina Hendricks need not apply.
2. Your trailer needs to be: a sweeping show of a muddy battle field with with ancient Greek monuments and some kirby highlights in the mix, Women and Monsters and gods fighting in the pan which focuses in on a shot of Morena Baccarin on he knees, dirty, bloody with her hair cut off, running mascara watery eyes, leather armor and her her mother in her arms. No sound except the voice over of by a blonde man in a business suit calling himself Ares talking about how he has chosen her.
Alas this is the age of forgettable safe marvel studio films so look forward to an expensive version of of that TV show reboot with a touch of Marvels made for TV Thor.
Came to this episode late. Haha, thanks for the shout-out, Phil. Kris's Star Wars rant was hilarious.
