Movie Moan - The Final Chapter

To steal a line from that song in 'Muppets Christmas Carol', the time has come for us to say goodbye. After 7 years of consistent podcasting, Phil Gee and Jamie Williams finally shake hands on a job well done, look back on a rather impressive body of work, and thank you, the listeners, for being with us every step of the way.

On tonight's jam packed episode, we are joined by the astounding line-up of Jen Mayhew, Edward Douglas, Spencer Perry, Randall Maynard, and Matt Thompson. Plus, there's a special appearance by producer and director Roger Lay Jr. for an in-depth 80 minute interview with Phil as we discuss blu rays, the future of television, Captain Power, Star Trek, and the film I want to see more than any other; his documentary 'Toymasters'.

Meanwhile, the gang give their impressions on 'Guardians Of The Galaxy week' and all the goodies that Marvel unleashed on us from their biggest gamble. We discuss the validity of 'The Second Lego Movie' as it will no doubt be called. Ed gives us his early review for two of March's biggest blockbusters 'Need For Speed' and '300: Rise Of An Empire', and we answer the questions that you sent in for us (not to mention some of our own).

Finally, we've broken new ground by doing something no other podcast has ever done. We've gotten our hands on the script for the aborted George Miller directed film 'Justice League: Mortal', taken a ten page excerpt and.........WE ACT IT OUT, LIVE ON THE SHOW. Trust us folks, you have no idea how lucky we are that this thing didn't get made.

We've thrown everything we can into this final, 4 hour plus episode to make it our best show ever and we hope you agree.

Movie Moan - Those Were The Days (with the old Movie Moan gang)

Oh, it's like they never left.

This week we pay homage to the way things used to be on this show when Phil Gee and Jamie Williams were joined every week by their faithful companions Captain Ed Hocken of Police Squad and the wise and sage Mr Lou Sytsma. You knew where you were then. It wouldn't be more than a minute after saying hello before you were discussing Law & Order and swapping Youtube links.

After months, maybe even years away, we reunited this week for a special show to do all that again but to let you hear it. So join us this week for an uncut glimpse into what a regular two hour conversation between these four guys sound like.

Movie Moan - Pitch Of Steel (aka we write the new Superman movie on air)

Here it folks; the show you were supposed to get last week. And it's a corker that could shake the foundations of the planet.

This week we turn one of Phil's rants into deed and action for a change. Since we're banging our heads against the wall for Warner Bros. to start multi-tasking and, y'know, actually craft a DC cinematic universe by producing more than one film at a time, we decided to prove that you could still make a traditional Superman sequel for next summer and still have 'Batman Vs. Superman Vs. The World' out for the year after.

Over the course of the next two hours, you will get to hear something seldom done in the movie podcast arena; Phil, Jamie, and special guest Mr Randall Maynard will band together to write a treatment for the Superman sequel we deserve live on air. By the end of the show, we will have battled through the rewrites, studio notes and toy deals and come up with something we can all agree would be a solid next step in the new Superman's cinematic adventures.

Feel free to dream of the movie we have made (since it will never be) or curse our names and pitch us something better in the comments section. Either way, tell us what you think.  Enjoy!

Movie Moan Audio Commentary - 'Casino Royale' (1967)

We did a video series looking back on all the official films, we did an audio commentary for the non-cannon curio 'Never Say Never Again', but the time has come to tackle the film even the most ardent Bond lovers (that being Jamie Williams and myself) fear to tread upon; the indescribable, unintelligible, farce to end all farces, can't even be called a movie cause it's several in one, 'Casino Royale' (1967).

So join us for the next agonizing 131 mins as Phil, who has seen the film all the way through at least 7 times (just enough to vaguely comprehend it), takes Jamie, who has never seen it, by the hand and guides him through.

Will they survive?  Will you?

Note: Even if you've never seen the film, hopefully we have designed this audio commentary with your enjoyment in mind.  Trust me, I'll make more sense of the plot in the commentary than the film itself.
