Movie Moan - The Plagues Were Good

    Of course we came back!

Join Phil and Jamie, and the regular Movie Moan family of Edward Douglas, Spencer Perry, Matt Thompson, Lou Sytsma, and Randall Maynard as we finish what we started two years ago and complete our own trilogy of reviews for 'The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies: An Alfred Story'.

Trust me folks, once you've seen the film you will be wondering how as seemingly insignificant a character as Stephen Fry's comedy sidekick can become one of the major supporting players in 'the defining chapter of the Middle Earth legend.  But it happens.

And while you're wondering that, you may also ponder why the special effects in 'Exodus: Gods & Kings' could be compared to, at best, the crocodile in 'Lake Placid'.  Apparently, the plagues are worth watching but not much else is in that film.

We spend a little time talking about the next big budget fantasy film out of the gate; 'Warcraft', and what it's chances are of repeating the same mistakes as the Hobbit trilogy.

We discuss the recent trailers for 'Mad Max: Fury Road', 'Jurassic World', Star Wars: The Force Awakens', 'Inside Out', and 'Terminator: Genysis'.  We get a little carried away ranting about that last one.

And then we clean house and confess our sins for reading anything to do with the Sony Hack and helping to do the dirty work of criminals.

But to end the show on a positive note, we do have some exciting news to share with you about our plans for 2015.  We hope you will continue to listen and support us.....

....because I SWEAR next year's shows will be a lot better.

    Merry Christmas!

Movie Moan's Summer 2014 Box Office Predictions - The Results

    Well.......that went well!

It's time to join Phil Gee, Jamie Williams, Shawn Robbins of, and Ed Douglas of as they sift through the rubble of their box office predictions for Summer 2014's biggest movies and find out who got the least wrong.

I would defy anyone to have predicted how the last four months have played out. This was the summer where up became down, left became right, and August became, no longer a dumping ground for garbage that nobody will see, but rather home to two of the year's biggest hits.

But while the hosts of this show might not have done that well, just maybe you folks at home did. If you posted your own predictions on our site then keep on listening because your scores have been tallied and a Web Winner will be announced at the end of the show.

We'll be back for the Winter game very soon. In the meantime, please leave your sympathy comments for me just below. You didn't think I was gonna win did you?

    Movie Moan - Phil's 31st Birthday Bash

Hi everyone, it's nice to see you all again. We just though, same as last year, that there was no better way to spend my birthday than getting together for two and a half hours of podcasting to celebrate Marvel's biggest risk to date paying off but also to recap the best of Comic-Con, the movies we've seen recently, the best and worst of the summer etc.

Plus, Mr Matt Thompson has already seen 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and will be glad to tell you whether it's worth your 8 bucks.

So come and join Phil's Skype birthday party. You're already late. Press play quick!

Movie Moan - Days Of Present Ranting

We had to come back for an X-Men movie, and come back we VIDEO!

So enjoy the Movie Moan podcast for the first time in high definition on Youtube (should that be your preference) and join Phil Gee, Jamie Williams, Spencer Perry, Matt Thompson, and the long awaited return of Mr Gabe Toro as we spend a pleasant 90 minutes for an analysis of the latest X-Men epic.

I wish I could say it was the love-in I was planning but, truth be told, Phil's unbridled enthusiams cannot contend with the force of his companions wanting to pick the film apart its continuity issues.

The big debate then of 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' is whether we should cut the filmmakers some slack for picking and choosing (and then erasing) a minefield of continuity problems already established by six previous films, or whether a film that is about continuity should be taken to task for being so reckless with it.

The question is...........who will you stand with?
