    Movie Moan - It's Not Gay......IT'S MAGIC!

This week's episode is a movie tagline producing factory all by itself.  Phil comes up with the perfect one for 'Ant-Man', Gabe figures out the perfect way to market 'Jurassic World' is to tell the mass public that they don't deserve it, and the title of the show is the one to be used for the inevitable Dumbledore prequel movie.

So join Phil, Jamie, the always hilarious Gabe Toro and the incessantly delightful Jen Mayhew as another near two hours of Movie Moan fun.

This week, Phil and Gabe come to blows on whether Ron Howard's latest film 'Rush' is a thoughtful character study or a dressed up 'jocks vs. nerds' movie.  Gabe always reviews the 150 minute (with one plot twist per minute guaranteed) 'Prisoners'.  Jen gives us the lowdown on 'Fantastic Beats And Where To Find Them'.  Phil tells us why there's the smallest chance that Marvel Studios knows what they're doing by moving 'Ant-Man' to Summer 2015.  And we wonder aloud if 'Jurassic World' really is the best film title of all time.

    Movie Moan - DON'T PANIC

That was a test of the Movie Moan Emergency Broadcast System.  You may now resume your daily lives.  Jamie Williams is back.......and he's not alone.

Also joining us this week is a new member of the Movie Moan family, the absolutely delightful Elisabeth Rappe, writer for Film.com & CHUD.

This week, Phil reviews the latest charming fantasy comedy romance from Richard Curtis; 'About Time'.  We discuss the psychological justification required to make the new Batman work on the big screen, Hiddleston and Cumberbatch worshippers, Sophie's Choice Part II, and finally letting go of 'Star Trek Into Darkness'.  Plus, Jamie and Phil duel over the pros and cons of the 'Robocop' remake trailer, and come to a final verdict on the debate that has kept them at odds for a lifetime; is Grandpa Joe a loving parent and guardian or a lazy ass bum?

Movie Moan - The Summer 2013 Box Office Results Spectacular

Does this show need a long winded blurb?

I don't think it does.  So join me, Mr. Box Office.com Shawn Robbins, and the new challenger Ed Douglas as we battle through the closest race that has ever been run in all the years we've been doing our Box Office specials.

And for those of you who predicted on the web, you don't need a pen and paper handy as the scores will be on the screen after we discuss each film.  The audio version is below but I do thoroughly recommend that you watch this week's show in video.

Now let us see who is right, and who is dead.

    Movie Moan - An Update

Hey folks, I know you're all going to be watching this page like a hawk over the next few days and hitting the F5 key again and again until our Box Office Results spectacular appears.  At least in my mind you are.  Given that, I thought it best to give you an update on where we are with the show in general.

Things are going to be a little erratic for the foreseeable future so I'd better just lay it out.

    1. Jamie is not going to be with us for at least a short spell.  He has other endeavors which are taking up every bit of his time.  I shall be flying solo on the podcast while he is.  I am scared of doing it without him.  Feel free to cyber hug me at this time.

    2. The Box Office Results show will be up......by the end of the week.  We were not able to record it today as we were hoping, due to scheduling conflicts.  Jamie will not be with us for that either but I will be joined by my fellow challengers Shawn Robbins and Ed Douglas.

    3. Also due to the hectic lives of the people involved, Supermoan is on hiatus right now.  I know I promised that we would cover every TV show as well as the films and that is certainly still the plan but I just don't know when we'll be back up and running with it.  I hope it will be worth the wait.

Just to announce two other special projects that we hope to bring to you soon:

    4. Randall Maynard and myself are going to be recording an audio commentary for 'The Phantom' starring Billy Zane shortly.  I'm just waiting for the Blu Ray to arrive at my door.

    5. The other one I am hesitant to go into too much detail about right now because I don't know how long the current situation is going to last and this would be dependant on it lasting a fair amount of time.  But, if I am flying solo for a while, I plan to bring you my own personal 15 hour longplay commentary on.......a videogame.  My personal favorite videogame of all time.  I won't tell you what it is but I will give you a clue.  It was released in 2000 and is often cited as one of the best, if not the best, PC game of all time.

In any case, don't worry.  The Movie Moan podcast is like the dinner you expect on the table at 7pm.  It'll be there, with all the things you like.

As always, we appreciate your support.

Movie Moan - How About Gilbert Gottfried As Alfred?

You can watch this week's episode on Blip:

    Or on Youtube:

I mean if people are going to get upset over Affleck, why don't we really mess with their heads?  Joining Phil and Jamie on the Movie Moan team this week is our wonderful box office correspondent Jen Mayhew, film critic for The Playlist and Jump Cut Junkies Mr. Gabe Toro, and the immortal Ed Douglas from Comingsoon.net, as we figure out who the perfect Alfred Pennyworth should be (and don't think he's necessarily going to be white and English).

Also on the menu this week, we have a roundtable review from all five of us of 'The World's End', Phil kicks 'Elysium' in the crotch for wasting his time, Gabe calls out a particular film critic with no respect for the profession as well as picks some more independent movie gems for you to find, and we share some stories about our local theatres and the literal rats that dwell there.  If you thought the fleapit was dead, you thought wrong.
