Movie Moan - How About Gilbert Gottfried As Alfred?

You can watch this week's episode on Blip:

    Or on Youtube:

I mean if people are going to get upset over Affleck, why don't we really mess with their heads?  Joining Phil and Jamie on the Movie Moan team this week is our wonderful box office correspondent Jen Mayhew, film critic for The Playlist and Jump Cut Junkies Mr. Gabe Toro, and the immortal Ed Douglas from Comingsoon.net, as we figure out who the perfect Alfred Pennyworth should be (and don't think he's necessarily going to be white and English).

Also on the menu this week, we have a roundtable review from all five of us of 'The World's End', Phil kicks 'Elysium' in the crotch for wasting his time, Gabe calls out a particular film critic with no respect for the profession as well as picks some more independent movie gems for you to find, and we share some stories about our local theatres and the literal rats that dwell there.  If you thought the fleapit was dead, you thought wrong.

Gabe's got it right. Fans are upset about Afleck when the real concern should be about Snyder and Goyer's continuing participation.

What was that background noise - sounds like chittering mice! Mute key my friend! Try it - it's a wonderful invention. PS - use the software mute not the hardware one.

Here's an awesome read, an article from '88 about the backlash against Keaton as Batman:) Love it. http://www.timburtoncollective.com/articles/bat7.html

Just imagine if we had Twitter, Facebook and all that back in the '80s. It wouldn't have been hundreds of protest letters, it would have been tens of thousands of signatures on petitions and hundreds of memes and everything else imaginable...

Phil, if it makes you feel any better, I'd be happy to click on ads. I know you said you'll never have them but I just wanted you to know that. And even if you don't get paid, I hope you know how much I look forward to MM and how it brightens my day, especially when I'm going through a tough time in life. I listen to you at night sometimes to unwind and just have a few good laughs.

Gabe, I echo Jamie's opinion - I wish you would start calling out all inconsiderate douchebags (hahaha) in my theaters, too, not just critics. And yes, those ads that tell people to turn off their phones never work and never will.
