New Poster For "McCanick" Starring David Morse And Corey Monteith

A hothead cop (David Morse) learns a young man (Cory Monteith, in one of his final film roles) he helped put away seven years ago is back out on the streets — and carries with him an uncomfortable secret. This tough, tension-riddled action-drama is a showcase for Morse’s intensity and Monteith’s charisma.

IMAX FanFix Poster For "Riddick" Revealed

The September 6th release is written and directed by David Twohy and stars Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk and Keri Hilson.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

Batman Vs Superman Fan Teaser Is Pretty Good

Nerds of all shapes and sizes show off their excitement for an upcoming film by being creative. The creative juices flow by the way of fan art, manips, fan posters, and trailers. Some are pretty good and some are garbage. The trailer below made by YouTube User Soylentbrak belongs in the pretty good category if you ask me.

It's interesting to see the made up news story of Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor coming to life on screen as well as a glimpse as to what Ben Affleck might bring to the cowl as Bruce Wayne.

Matt Damon Hearts Ben Affleck But Thinks Batman Is A Simpleton & Won't Be Robin

The backlash to Ben Affleck being cast as Batman has been rather surprising to me. Affleck has proven himself to be more than polished actor. I thought the Boston area native was more than solid in both Argo and The Town. Twitter was riddled with hashtags ripping on the choice but fanboys will be fanboys. The same thing happened when other actors were cast in high profile rolls but the internet wasn't as socially active during those time periods.

One person entirely on Affleck's team is none other than friend Matt Damon. Speaking with the Times Of India (Whatever That Is), the actor defended his pals acting abilities and took a couple jabs at The Caped Crusader.

"I think it will be great. It will be terrific. I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! Certainly within his skill set. If anybody saw 'Argo' or 'The Town,' and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that... But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."

I don't think I could have said it better myself. We're talking about Batman here. Credit to Christopher Nolan and of course Christian Bale for making Batman important I guess.

Vin Diesel Talks About Being A Tree & Hints At More In The Marvel Universe

Vin Diesel has been making a habit of teasing the Marvel fanbase with the possibility that he would playing a character in the currently filming Guardians Of The Galaxy.  After using social media as his version of being a "dick tease" the actor hinted that he was hoping to play the character of Groot. Today Diesel spoke with ShockTillYouDrop about his role as the talking tree.

"It'll be voiceover, MoCap and all of that stuff. It's going to be super cool."

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Diesel talks about another possible Marvel character that he discussed with the studio, but kept it shrouded in mystery.

"What we were intially talking about was a fresh IP and that was the focus of our conversation. A fresh IP that would come out in 2016 or 2017 to potentially launch a third phase. When we went to Comic-Con, we realized that we wanted something more immediate."

Like any actor Vin Diesel has had his share of misses (Find Me Guilty) but the guy kills it as Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise. I would rather see him as the lead in a Marvel solo flick and maybe that is still a possibility based on his comments.

Pixar Reportedly Removes Director From The Good Dinosaur

John Lasseter has admitted for every Pixar production, at some point during its development, there is a time when the whole project is a disaster. One can imagine how unruly things got. Everything goes into panic mode with the staff thinking their careers are over. Then heads cool, sleeves get rolled up and they do whatever needs to be done to turn it around. And for the most part, they have.

That is all fine and dandy as long as their troubles don't go public before said project is released. They have in the past. As the cases of Newt getting cancelled or the drastic turn-arounds put on Ratatouille and Brave have shown us.

Blue Sky Disney, unfortunately, has another example of production woes. The blog reports Lasseter has shown director Bob Peterson the door from The Good Dinosaur. No reason for the firing was given nor has a new director been filled in his slot. If they plan to make their May 30, 2014 release (They do), someone will have to be hired yesterday.

    Trailer For Dallas Buyers Club

It's one thing to read all the reports of how much weight Matthew McConaughey lost for Dallas Buyers Club. It's another thing to actually see his physical state on set (My best friend met him during the shoot and was stunned how gaunt he was, and yet he was still the Matthew McConaughey we know). Strangely none of that prepares you to see him as AIDS victim Ron Woodroof in the trailer for the forthcoming drama.

Mitch Hurwitz Single-Handedly Beating Arrested Development Movie Drum

The greatly-anticipated fourth season of Arrested Development came and went. Besides "Oh yeah we're still totally interested in more!" comments from Netflix, everything has cooled off on seeing yet another return to the Bluth family chronicles. Maybe the revival season was just that much of a disappointment to critics and fans or maybe the viewership/ratings/whatever-they-use-to-rate-success didn’t meet expectations. After all the series never broke out past cult status, despite critical accolades.

All I know is, no matter your thoughts, creator/showrunner Mitch Hurwitz was a fool ending the season (and possibly series) on a cliffhanger with nary a contractual commitment from the network or cast. I have to wonder if he knows that too. And now we're right back to where we started. Hurwitz is talking up an Arrested Development movie again, this time to Rolling Stone. Something he was doing in the seven years between the series' cancellation and the miraculous return to airwaves (which he has now royally screwed up):

"I'm working on the movie right now. I can't get into much more detail because I don't want to scare anybody off. I don't want to be presumptuous about it. I don't own the property outright – it's a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie."

The rest is more of the same. Blah, blah, I wanna do the movie and then season five, blah, blah, blah. Though at one point, he compares Arrested Development season four to The Godfather Part II and how people weren't crazy about it at first. Sure, Mitch.

Two New Thor: The Dark World Posters

Marvel revealed two character posters for Thor: The Dark World featuring Loki and Thor. These were first seen last week as covers for an upcoming issue of Empire magazine. I quite like them both to be honest. Loki looking very mischievous and Thor in a dynamic action pose with the lightning bolt striking around him is eye catching.

Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's Thor and Marvel's The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World opens in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on November 8.
