Judd Apatow's Latest Hitting June 1, 2012
Details are still on the "We ain't saying shit!" side of things, but Judd Apatow is writing the script for what will be his next directorial go-around.
"TOLDJA" reports Universal has set a June 1, 2012 release date on the untitled feature. There's been enough time since Funny People (which I found to be the strongest of his three films) tanked so Apatow has hopefully let those wounds of his first flop heal.
The only questionable move (and I realize we know squat about the plot, which of his alum if any will star, etc.) is that June release. Going up that early in the summer (where things will be competitive as shit with tentpoles vying for screens and our wallets) is risky.
If I'm calling the shots, I'd push it back to August. Let The Dark Knight Rises eat everyone alive for a few weeks, and take the opportunity to be the first thing presented as an alternative for folks tired after seeing the third Batman installment a dozen times.
