    Retro Posters for 'Sucker Punch'

Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared. ‘Sucker Punch’ is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary. She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls—the outspoken Rocket (Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Hudgens), the fiercely loyal Amber (Chung) and the reluctant Sweet Pea (Cornish)—to band together and try to escape their terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Isaac), Madam Gorski (Gugino) and the High Roller (Hamm). Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Glenn), their unbelievable journey—if they succeed—will set them free.

But soon he decides to fight back under the guise of a DIY superhero called Crimson Bolt. With a hand-made suit, a wrench, and a crazed sidekick named Boltie (Page), the Crimson Bolt beats his way though the mean streets of crime in hopes of saving his wife. The rules were written a long time ago: You are not supposed to molest children, cut lines or key cars; if you do, prepare to face the wrath of the Crimson Bolt!

A 'Major League 4'? Hell Yes!

Could a Major League 4 be happening?  It certainly seems so.

I had read last year that writer/director of the original, David S. Ward, was working on a script for a 4th Major League film with the intention of bringing the original cast back together, most especially, "Wild Thing" Charlie Sheen.  The film would be set twenty years after Rick Vaughn has left baseball with the Cleveland Indians bringing him out of retirement to work with a 19 year-old, fireballing relief pitcher.  At the time, Ward said Sheen was very interested in the project along with an aim to shoot this summer.

Looks like things might be taking shape.

Just this week, Sheen was out stating his case for a Major League 3 as he looks to call it (he feels the 3rd film, Major League: Back to the Minors, was an "abortion"), but says unless Morgan Creek (the production company) wants to pay him what he feels he's worth, he won't be doing it:

“Well you know I’d like to (star in another Major League film) but you might want to flood Morgan Creek (production company) with letters and an angry mob with burning torches because they don’t seem to think I’m as valuable as I do.”

This seems to be a small hiccup in getting the film made as many believe Morgan Creek would be willing to up their offer to Sheen, as without the actor another Major League film is unlikely to happen.

Along with this, THR caught wind of Sheen's comments, and contacted David S. Ward himself, who confirms the film is coming together with a well-received script, and that all the original characters are back, including Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert), Willie "Mays" Hayes (Wesley Snipes), and Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen).  Though Tom Berenger's character, Jake Taylor, isn't mentioned, it's a forgone conclusion he would be back as well.

I'll be sure to keep track of this project in the coming months ahead.  Until then, here's a reminder of how great the original film was:

Let's hope Bob Uecker returns too!

Special thanks to Moviehole for first reporting this project

    Kevin Costner To Join 'Superman'?

Kevin Costner is reportedly up for a "key role" in Zack Snyder's new Superman film via TOLDJA! The role is unknown but early speculation, based on Costner's age, is it could be Jor-El, Perry White, Jonathan Kent, or even Lois Lane's father, General Sam Lane. Henry Cavill is so far the only cast member announced for the film, playing Clark Kent/Superman.

More on this story as it develops.

    New 'Scream 4' Poster

Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

DiCaprio and Scorsese Together Again for 'Wolf of Wall Street'

No, this has nothing to do with Oliver Stone's Wall Street, get that out of your head.

Vulture reports that while Ridley Scott was suppose to direct the film adaptation of the 1990 best seller, The Wolf of Wall Street, over at Warner Bros. with Leonardo DiCaprio to star, that is no longer the case.  Turns out the project has left the studio along with Scott leaving the project.  His replacement?  Martin Scorsese.  Yup, looks like Leo and Marty are teaming again for their fifth film together.

This project was initially suppose to be directed by Scorsese as far back as four years ago, but issues between Warner Bros. (who owned the rights) and Paramount (who had a rich deal with Scorsese) prevented it from happening.  Now, it looks like all the pieces have fallen into place as the flick will be independently financed thanks to Rick Yorn, DiCaprio's manager, who secured funds a while back.

Though nothing is set in stone, the early plan is to have this film in front of cameras by June.  DiCaprio just started work on Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar, while Scorsese is just finishing up The Life of Hugo Cabret with plans to direct Silence with Benicio del Toro next.

Read full synopsis for The Wolf of Wall Street below [via Amazon]:

Belfort, who founded one of the first and largest chop shop brokerage firms in 1987, was banned from the securities business for life by 1994, and later went to jail for fraud and money-laundering, delivers a memoir that reads like fiction. It covers his decade of success with straightforward accounts of how he worked with managers of obscure companies to acquire large amounts of stock with minimal public disclosure, then pumped up the price and sold it, so he and the insiders made large profits while public investors usually lost. Profits were laundered through purchase of legitimate businesses and cash deposits in Swiss banks. There is only brief mention of Belfort's life before Wall Street or events since 1997. The book's main topic is the vast amount of sex, drugs and risky physical behavior Belfort managed to survive.

All's Not Great on the 'Superman' Front

You know, I heard this back when Zack Snyder was first announced, and I did my best to dismiss it through logic, but after hearing this now, months after Snyder was hired, I'm starting to think it's true.

In Vulture's exclusive report on Guy Ritchie being offered the 300 sequel, Xerxes, they state while the intial plan was to have Snyder direct the follow-up to his 2006 hit, Warner Bros. ultimately had a change of heart.  The possible reason?  Superman.

One theory is that Warner Bros. needs Snyder to bear down on Superman stat: Insiders say the closely-guarded script for Superman suffers from major third-act problems, and the studio faces a ticking clock on that franchise, legally speaking; if a Superman film isn’t in production by 2013, Warner Bros. loses the rights to the entire Superman franchise and would have to re-license it from its original creators — the estates of Detective Comics writers Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster — at great if not prohibitive expense.

Call me an optimist, but no matter how many times I hear about the poor nature of this script, I can't help but remember who sheparded this whole project: Christopher Nolan.  Yes, he's busy working on The Dark Knight Rises right now as the man has complete tunnel vision when working on a film.  But it doesn't excuse the fact that he oversaw this project until he handed it off to Snyder.  I can't imagine Nolan putting his name on something that's not to the highest quality.

Don't forget too, this thing ain't suppose to start filming until July.  As I stated many times, Snyder and whoever else is working on this film have been given a solid eight months to get this thing into shape.  I think that's more than enough time to work out the kinks.

    We shall see.

    Poster for Upcoming 'Arthur'

I still don't understand what exactly Russell Brand has done to deserve leading role status in Hollywood.  The guy seems to have capitalized on the fact he was in one of 2008's more funnier films (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), be it a small role, and his public relationship with Katy Perry.  I can think of plenty of seasoned comedians who have paid their dues and deserve the roles Brand seems to be getting.

Anyway, here's the poster for his upcoming remake of the classic comedy, Arthur, also featuring Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren.  Ironic the film's tagline is, "No Work.  All play."  Pretty much sums up Brand's lifestyle of free-loading off his girlfriend's popularity and getting attention he hasn't earned.

Yeah, that's right.  I went there.

Irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach (Russell Brand) has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Helen Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge–choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi (Greta Gerwig), the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi’s inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and finally learn what it means to become a man, in this re-imagining of the classic romantic comedy “Arthur.”

First Image of 'The Hobbit' Cast

Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit, is a peaceful sort of cozy hole in the Shire, a place where adventures are uncommon and rather unwanted. So when the wizard Gandalf whisks him away on a treasure hunting expedition with a troop of rowdy dwarves, he’s not entirely thrilled. Encountering ruthless trolls, beastly orcs, gigantic spiders, and hungry wolves, Bilbo discovers within himself astonishing strength and courage. And at the ultimate confrontation with the fearsome dragon Smaug, the hobbit will brave the dangers of dark and dragon fire alone and unaided.
