Parkland Trailer is a Bland Recreation of a National Tragedy

The assassination of President John F. Kennedy changed everything as we know it. Politics, war, the presidency itself. In the 50 years since the tragedy, it has revisited from every possible angle in all formats. If one is going to go back to that period onscreen (a subject matter I myself am fascinated by), bring something new to the table.

That doesn't appear to be the case with Parkland, the drama from first-time helmer Peter Landesman, producer Tom Hanks and a cast featuring Zac Efron, Colin Hanks, Paul Giamatti, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Billy Bob Thornton and Jackie Weaver. It looks like a movie-of-the-week. For such a history-changing event, everything feels small.

First Image of POMPEII Shows Jon Snow Knows SOMETHING...About Being SEXY!

Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, PANDORUM, Death Race, The Three Musketeers) is the king of badass movies that people hate, and his upcoming disaster film, POMPEII, is sure not to disappoint if you're a fan of ultra violence, weird fetishistic leather outfits, and some great stuntwork.

It appears Jon Snow might know nothin' on HBO's "Game of Thrones"; but this first look at Kit Harrington's character, Milo, appears he knows something about lifting and looking like a badass hoss-machine.

The movie, about an enslaved Celtic gladiator, Milo, played by Kit Harrington (Silent Hill: Revelations 3D"HBO's Game of Thrones"who falls in love with a noblewoman played by Emily Browning (Sleeping Beauty, Sucker Punch) the night before the volcano errupts, bringing him face to face with the man who took everything from him, and destroys the sweeping city, leaving it frozen in ash for eternity, will be released February 28, 2014 and also stars Keifer Sutherland, Jared Harris,Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas, and Paz Vega.

You'll Believe Steve Carell Can Look Freaky

It takes a minute to get used to.

Yes, that is Steve Carell. The comedy-star, known for loveable doofus Michael Scott on The Office, brain-dead Brick Tamland in Anchorman and the voice of Clu in Despicable Me, is going outside his comfort zone with Foxcatcher, the drama from director Bennett Miller due out December 20th.

The film details the relationship between John DuPont (played by Carell) and Olympic wrestling brothers Mark and David Schultz (Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo) before it ended with murderous results.

The Counselor International Trailer is the Opposite of the U.S. Trailer

The U.S. trailer for Ridley Scott's The Counselor was too coy for my tastes. Aren't we supposed to have some semblance of the plot in order to get interested in seeing the final product? All talk about a highly-prominent lawyer played by Michael Fassbender doing something that gets him in trouble with the wrong people. Don't ask what he did, because they ain't telling. Hence my frustration.

The new International trailer sheds not only some light on the questionable action, but a nice twist. The shady folks don't appear to be Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt, as heavily implied in the U.S. trailer. No, it's bad, big... Cameron Diaz? Yeah, it's a stretch and frankly she's trying way too hard here to be convincingly "evil." But I like the chance of pace and can now say that yes The Counselor has my curiosity. Even if it still appears to be a generic thriller.
