Photos From "Batman Vs Superman" East L.A. Football Stadium Shoot

Batman vs Superman was rumored to be filming in January or February of 2014 but to the surprise of everyone an early and quick block of shooting commenced today in East L.A. Neither Henry Cavill or Ben Affleck were on hand for the shoot which took place at Weingart Stadium home of the East Los Angeles College football team.

I'm sure this small shoot won't amount to much of anything within the realm of the actual film but it is giving the fans something to talk about in their virtual forum apartments. Zack Snyder along with various banners and gear have been captured courtesy of the MUNDO SUPERMAN FACEBOOK PAGE

Three Characters Posters From "Grudge Match" - Stallone, De Niro, Hart

In "Grudge Match," De Niro and Stallone play Billy "The Kid" McDonnen and Henry "Razor" Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both their careers. Thirty years later, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr., seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer they can't refuse: to re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all.

But they may not have to wait that long: on their first encounter in decades, their long-festering feud erupts into an unintentionally hilarious melee that instantly goes viral. The sudden social media frenzy transforms their local grudge match into a must-see HBO event. Now, if they can just survive the training, they may actually live to fight again.

"That Kid" From IRON MAN 3 Will Be Taking A Trip to JURASSIC WORLD

"The kid", Ty Simpkins, who starred in this summer's billion-dollar hit Iron Man 3, will be going off on another adventure, although sadly not with a coked-out PTSD-striken Robert Downey Jr; but to an Island off the coast of Costa Rica in 2015's Jurassic World. Deadline reports:

I don’t think they confirmed Bryce Dallas Howard, who has also been in talks for a role. I’m hearing that 12-year old Ty Simpkins, fresh from Iron Man 3, has booked a lead in Jurassic World.

Simpkins has starred in such films as War of the Worlds, inSidious, and Revolutionary Road.

Jurassic World will be directed by Colin Trevorrow with a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, and will hit theaters in 3D on June 12, 2015.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Paul Rudd Might Be Your ANTMAN

Variety has some news on who might play the titular hero in The World's End/Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright's upcoming Marvel feature, ANTMAN, and it's a double-sided coin between predictability and genius.

Sources tell Variety the two actors who have emerged as front-runners to land the title role in the superhero feature are Joseph Gordon Levitt and Paul Rudd. Insiders warn there’s still a remote possibility another actor could emerge but as of now, Gordon-Levitt and Rudd are the main contenders the role.

Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy Joseph Gordon-Levitt; but he's that guy who's in literally everything, and he's already had two "comic book" properties under his belt with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and The Dark Knight Rises, and while he's fine, a really brilliant choice would be Rudd, who isn't only an attractive funny-man with charm and some dashing good looks, he'd really be interesting to see take on more serious-notes as a sort-of ass-kicking super-hero; much like with what Marvel did casting Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy.

What do you all think? Keep in mind nothing is confirmed and this could all be rumor; and there's still the possibility neither will don the mask.
Who would you like to see as ANTMAN?

The pint-sized hero ass-kicks his way into theaters July 31, 2015.

Charlie Hunnam Is No Longer Part Of "50 Shades Of Grey" - Nobody Cares

When Charlie Hunnam was cast as Christian Grey in the upcoming 50 Shades Of Grey it wasn't exactly a universal orgasm from the the well versed female fanbase. More like a collective "Who?" He certainly wasn't the interwebs choice for the role and now maybe there can be a widespread sigh of relief because Hunnam is no longer part of the production.

The reason that was given in the below press release was his "immersive TV schedule" which points to his role on Sons Of Anarchy. To me that is simply a nice way of saying he was fired. My guess is he wasn't what the creative team envisioned and his chemistry with Dakota Johnson is way off. Think Eric Stoltz in Back To The Future but without the wasted footage.

You wonder if this delays the project which was already on a tight schedule, plus not sure if they want to go up against Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy, even though I think that won't be as big of a hit as some might think.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced today that Charlie Hunnam will no longer play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

"The filmmakers of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," the studio said in a statement.

He was going to star opposite Dakota Johnson and Jennifer Ehle in the August 1, 2014 release, to be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The film will be based on E L James’ #1 bestselling book. Fifty Shades Of Grey has been adapted into a screenplay by Kelly Marcel. Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing the movie version alongside Ms. James.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features acquired the rights to the three books in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy in March 2012. Focus Features will market and distribute the first film in partnership with Universal. "Fifty Shades of Grey" has become a global phenomenon and the trilogy has been translated in over 50 languages worldwide since its release. To date, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy has sold over 70 million copies worldwide in e-book and print, making it one of the fastest-selling book series ever.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" (first published in 2011) follows the relationship of 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey and college student Anastasia Steele. Subsequent novels in the series, "Fifty Shades Darker" (2011) and "Fifty Shades Freed" (2012) explore the couple’s deepening relationship.

Excerpt From Marc Guggenheim's Flash Script Leaks On Twitter

Latino-Review's scoop crusader Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzalez caused a small stir on Twitter this afternoon when he released a screen cap via HIS INSTAGRAM of a script excerpt featuring The Flash.

When I first read the exceprt I thought it was from the upcoming Flash television series but the format wasn't for television and I then realized I had read it previously. Upon further investigation I reminded myself it was was from Marc Guggenheim's 2011 Flash script simply titled The Flash. In fact, it was from the 3rd page, which I've included in it's entirety below.

I'm not quite sure what the end game was in regards to posting the excerpt. It was being played off as a "scoop" but I'm not sure if the insinuation was that it was from Batman Vs Superman, a new Justice League, or a new Flash film. Websites started running the story claiming they had sources who confirmed it was Batman vs Superman & David Goyer's The Flash. That's incorrect.

Guggenheim and Michael Green are the credited as writers and both have story credits; along with Greg Berlanti. I have read this version and David Goyer's October 2006 draft and in my opinion; Marc Guggenheim's is the superior read. I was told by my peeps over at Warner Bros that they did really love the script, I'm not sure of the reasons behind not putting it into production.

Jon Snow and Others On The Short-List for Fox's FANTATSIC FOUR Reboot

Variety reported some interesting names on the list to test for Dr. Reed Richards and Susan Storm, aka Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman, part of Marvel's first family in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, being directed by Chronicle's Josh Trank with Gregory Goodman and X-Men: First Class/Kick-Ass's Matthew Vaughn producing.

With Simon Kinberg being brought on to do a polish on the script, Fox is now preparing to test a handful of thesps for the roles of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, and Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Girl, in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot.

Sources tell Variety that Kit Harington, Jack O’Connell and Miles Teller are in line to get test offers to read for the role of Richards while Saoirse Ronan, Kate Mara and Margot Robbie are being tested for Storm. As of right now Michael B. Jordan is the only name being mentioned as a possibility to play Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, but that could still change.

So we got Kit Harington, who is set to make his leading man debut in Paul W.S. Anderson's upcoming Historical-epic-drama, POMPEII, and already has a sizeable following on "HBO's Game of Thrones"; Miles Teller, who has been a charismatic lead in 21 And Over, Footloose, Project X, and the acclaimed The Spectacular Now; and Jack O'Connell from the UK's "Skins", as well as the upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire.

    (Kit, Jack, and Miles)

Then to the girls for Invisible Woman, Sue Storm, we've got Saorise Ronan who's just fantastic in her roles from The Lovely Bones, HANNA, and the upcoming How I Live Now; Kate Mara from 127 Hours and FX's "American Horror Story"; and Margot Robbie, about to make her *big*-screen American appearance with The Wolf of Wall-Street.

    (Kate, Saorise, Margot)

Still no word on Ben Grimm aka "The Thing", and Michael B. Jordon is still apparently rumored for Johnny Storm aka "The Human Torch".

What do you all think? Who would you liked to see in Fantastic Four?

Martin Scorsese Hell-Bent on Completing 'The Wolf of Wall Street' for 2013 Release

A couple weeks back it was reported that Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street would likely be pushed to 2014 due to the legendary director being unable to edit down his massive first cut of the film to a manageable time before it’s November 15th release date.

This was considered a disappointing piece of news considering his flick was poised to be a major Oscar contender, much like Bennett Miller’s Foxcatcher which was also recently pushed to next year due to more time being needed for editing as well.

A similar move for another Scorsese flick was made back in 2009 when Shutter Island - poised for a big Oscar run - was moved to February 2010.  While the film went on to become one of Scorsese’s biggest hits, it garnered zero Oscar noms.

Well it looks like things may not be as dire as they seemed as word comes today that Scorsese and his long-time editor, Thelma Schoonmaker, are determined to cut the film by November 25th so Paramount can make a Christmas Day release.  This would give the studio enough time to promote the film while also freeing Scorsese to go fulfill his Marrakesh Film Festival duties (why the film needs cut by the 25th).

If this ends up being the case, it’s very likely Paramount would push its new Jack Ryan film, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (tentatively scheduled to open December 25th as well) to January (a mediocre trailer came out last week which I was actually surprised about but that’s a story for another day).

While I’m happy to hear the good news for Scorsese’s film, it (along with Miller’s Foxcatcher) brings up a new development in Hollywood.

The view of Tinseltown over the past several decades has always been “They don’t make movies anymore, they make release dates.”  However, it certainly sounds like with these situations now that studios are no longer mandating a film be finished in time for a set release date, quality of the film be damned.

It now seems studios are willing to give the makers of a film the time needed to make the best film possible, offering potential release date changes to coincide with this.

I do have to point out though, both these films were completed filming well over 8-10 months ago:  why does it take this long to edit films like these?  I’d hate to state how huge blockbusters make their dates in less time but then again, they are just that, huge blockbusters.  These are potential Oscar-worthy films.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments.
