Superman Vs The Elite Animated Movie

TV Guide has the first look for DC's next animated feature Superman Vs The Elite. The movie was first announced in July last year and today fans found out that Pauley Perrette will be voicing Lois Lane. Perrette is known on NCSI as forensic scientist, Abby Sciuto.

It's set to be out around the time Comic-Con hits in San Diego. Based on "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, & the American Way?", Superman battles a group of super powered "heroes" who take any action necessary to stop individuals seen as criminals even if killing is the only option. Superman has to find away to stop the group without eventually lowering himself to their standards. The title is a spin on Elvis Costello's "(What's So Funny) 'Bout Peace, Love, and Understanding?" and was created in response to all the extremely violent heroes that had become the norm for comics at the time.

A sneak peek will be included on the extra features of Justice League: Doom which is out on February 28th.

Recreation Of The Dark Knight Rises Prologue Score

I found this clip while browsing around at Batman-news.com. This honestly is quite a close recreation of the score Hans Zimmer pounded out during the prologue. One of the members of Nolan's Fans, Teddy Blass, put in the effort to bring this to other dedicated fans around the web. It's amazing to me the skill set some people have when it comes to being creative with their favorite films. There are a high number of great fan-made posters an images for this finale in the Nolan Batman trilogy, and now this can be added in with those.

The Dark Knight Rises is in theatres July 20th.

The Avengers Superbowl Spot Teaser

Earlier today a promotional chat was held on Twitter to promote the upcoming Avengers theatrical release. Fans got a chance to chat with Joss Whedon and were able to ask him questions about the film. At the end of the chat, a 10 second teaser was released for the 30 second Superbowl spot. It was also announced that the movie will be digitally re-mastered for the IMAX 3D format to be released worldwide on the same date.

The few short seconds show in the footage gives a quick shot of each character with a giant explosion that revealed some sort of flying mechanisms coming through the fire. A glimpse of the Hulk ends the teaser and this version looks more cleaned up and a little more releastic than the previous film versions of the character. The Avengers is in theaters on May 4th.

New Justice League: Doom Clip

Justice League: Doom will be based around Mark Waid's JLA story, "Tower of Babel". In the story, Ra's al Ghul has discovered a number of secrets kept in Batman's files which reveals each area of the league members weaknesses. It looks like Ra's will be replaced by Vandal Savage in the animated feature, who is basically an immortal that travels through various time periods trying to take his spot as the ruler of that era.

DC Comics hasn't been as hot as Marvel when it comes to big screen adaptations of their characters, but there's no questioning that the animated side comes out on top everytime. DC has a number of animated movies lined up each year, and in March they will be releasing a block of programming on Cartoon Network to help boost recgonition of the company. Look for Justice League: Doom on February 28th.

The Avengers 3D Glasses

The Avengers is sure to be one of the bigger hits of the summer. Marvel has been building this one up since the release of Iron Man back in 2008 and fans have been waiting not so patiently for the pay off. The last few movies have suffered a bit in my opinion with the focus on the stories giving momentum to this huge on screen team-up and even promotional stuff for The Avengers so far has looked underwhelming. That won't stop it from becoming a huge success though. Add the 3D format to the hype and the box office numbers should definitely be in contention for the top spot of the year.

Marvel is releasing exclusive 3D glasses designed around the 4 main heroes for an extra price when you go see the movie. I don't know if they will add these purchases to the final box office number, but I certainly wouldn't fork over even more money for an already overpriced viewing of a movie that probably looks better in 2D anyway. Some fans will feel that these are a must though and another unnecessary product will be sold!

New Promo Image From The Amazing Spider-Man

Sony Pictures is giving Spidey fans a sneak peek of their upcoming release, The Amazing Spider-Man. While footage won't be as widely released as The Dark Knight Rises prologue, bigger cities around the globe will have the chance to visit TheUntoldStoryBegins.com to reserve tickets to the event. I imagine the tickets are going quickly so hurry up and snag one if you're near one of the locations.

A promotional image has also been released with Andrew Garfield in the costume. Looks like someone has been battling The Lizard. The Amazing Spider-Man is in theatres June 30th in Japan and July 3rd in the US.

Wrath Of The Titans TV Spots

The epic battle between the Titans and the gods continues in this sequel set ten years after the events in Clash of the Titans, as Perseus (Sam Worthington) descends into the underworld on a mission to rescue Zeus from the clutches of Hades (Ralph Fiennes), Ares (Edgar Ramirez), and Kronos. In the wake of his decisive victory against the Kraken, Perseus has retreated to a remote fishing village to raise his young son, Helius. Meanwhile, humanity has lost faith in the gods. As a result, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon find their power beginning to slip, a development that could spell disaster for all of humankind should their imprisoned father, Kronos, manage to break free from his underworld prison in Tartarus. When Perseus learns that Zeus' son Ares has teamed with Hades and Kronos to capture Zeus, steal his power, and create hell on earth, the time comes to take action. Now, with Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) by his side, brave Perseus will venture deep into the underworld on a mission to defeat the Titans, deliver Zeus from evil, and prevent the powers of darkness from consuming all of humanity. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Does That Arrow Come In Green?

A week ago the news dropped of the CW giving the go ahead to a Green Arrow pilot, but with the simple title of Arrow. They didn't look far away from another hero who shares the same color by taking a story from Green Lantern writers, Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti. Fans of Smallville are familiar with Justin Hartley as the character, but its sounding like he isn't being considered for the part.

Fast forward to today where TV Addict released a few casting breakdowns for the proposed show. Check the name Dinah Lance after Oliver Queen's description. For anyone unfamiliar, this is the alias for one of DC's popular woman characters, Black Canary. Will she don some sort of costume and help Oliver on his quest for justice or be used only as a love interest? I wouldn't be surprised if they just go with Canary to keep with the streamlined name of the show. That all remains to be seen, so in the meantime check out the full descriptions in our new TV Section.

The Dark Knight Rises Statues

Collectors can now start salivating over the upcoming release of merchandise for the conclusion of Christopher Nolan's trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. A few days ago, Hot Toys released a teaser image of their Bane figure which caused a frenzy amongst fans on the message boards. Idle Hands is adding on to that excitement with scans of DC Direct's catalog for 2012.

I am well involved in the collecting game and these sculpts look great from what I can tell. They seem to have been detailed nicely, but with no price tag yet it's hard to say if they are worth purchasing. My personal favorites are the 6'' sized action figures and it will nice to see the final molds of those. The scans also show some other DC related collectibles for anyone interested, just click the link above.
