The Muppets New Movie, Starring Everybody...
A Muppet News Flash (sorry, couldn't resist it): some updates on the upcoming return of The Muppets to the big screen: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Amy Adams is close to a deal to star alongside Jason Segel in the new film, where she will play his character's girlfriend as they road trip to Los Angeles to find fame and fortune at Muppet Studios.
Hold on...this film involves a Muppet road trip? Is anyone else suddenly reminded of this?
Meanwhile, Heat Vision is reporting that Chris Cooper and Rashida Jones are also in talks to star in the film, which is aiming for a November start. The film will be loosely based on a Jim Henson story called The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made, which has the Muppets scrambling to finish their film after director Gonzo blows their entire budget on the first day of shooting. Cooper will be playing the film's villain, while Jones will play a network executive.
The as-yet-untitled new Muppet film, which will be directed by James Bobin, is set to be released on Christmas 2011.
