Yet Another New Man of Steel TV Spot

So we've gotten good-to-great TV spots but awful posters for Man of Steel. Hmmm, that seems like a fair trade off.

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

It's A Bird! It's A Plane! It's Another Boring MAN OF STEEL Poster!

    From the film's Facebook Page..

-Sigh- Jesus Christ. This is literally the same poster from a few days ago, sans the huge tacky "S".

    Wait, it's not an "S".

Peter Berg's LONE SURVIVOR Gets a Release Date

Universal Pictures has a set a January 10, 2014 release for Lone Survivor.

Based on the bestselling non-fiction book of the same name, the film tells the story of four Navy SEALs on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative who are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch, and Eric Bana.

It was a rough year for Taylor Kitsch. John Carter as good as it was- didn't make a lot of cash. Battleship, which re-teamed Kitsch and director Peter Berg, was a flop- and Oliver Stone's SAVAGES was the only hit out of all of them. Hopefully this will turn things around for the "Friday Night Lights" star.

New MAN OF STEEL Poster Is Just as Boring as the Last 12

The Man of Steel Facebook page showed off another new poster for the film today, showing us that they still don't know how to make a cool poster.

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Remember when movie posters used to mean something? Now they're "take a bunch of stills from the trailers and drown them in photoshop or put them in a generic pose?

    Jeez.

Star Wars Episode VII Will Film In UK

Lucasfilm announced today that production of Star Wars: Episode VII will take place in the United Kingdom. All of the six previous live-action Star Wars movies have included UK production in such famed studios as Elstree, Shepperton, Leavesden, Ealing and Pinewood Studios.

"We've devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I'm thrilled that returning to the UK for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that," said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. "Speaking from my own longstanding connection to the UK with films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire of the Sun and recently War Horse, it's very exciting to be heading back."

Earlier this year, representatives from Lucasfilm met with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, in London to establish an agreement to produce Star Wars in the U.K. "I am delighted that Star Wars is coming back to Britain. Today's announcement that the next Star Wars film will be shot and produced in the UK is great news for fans and our creative industries," Osborne said today.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt and is scheduled for a 2015 release.

Caesar On Horseback On Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Set

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is shooting in New Orleans.

Friend-of-a-friend thing (Largely how "buzz" for or against projects originate), but word is the script is good. That helps since Matt Reeves is directing, and his track-record is pretty good so far.

Speaking of its director, he too is joining the ever-growing trend of directors tweeting pictures, video, etc. from the set as opposed to fans taking less than flattering cell-phones pictures. Here it's Caesar (Andy Serkis in all his mo-cap/pajama glory) on horseback interacting with Jason Clarke.
