Green Arrow Revealed & A New Trailer For "Injustice Among Us"

I am really looking forward to the Arrow premiere on CW and it seems like WB/DC is standing behind Green Arrow and finally attempting to give the character a mainstream push. Above is the reveal of Green Arrow from the upcoming game "Injustice Among Us" and below you'll find a new trailer. I'm still hoping the studio somehow comes to its senses and gives the greenlight to the Supermax  project.

Also announced was the Nintendo TVii application which users can use to experience TV and video content using the Wii U GamePad Controller. The full announcement follows:

Nintendo today revealed full details about how the new Wii U™ home console and its groundbreaking touch-screen Wii U GamePad controller can revolutionize not only video game play but also the way people find and watch TV and video content. The new HD system will offer entirely new ways for consumers to play games and enjoy their favorite programming when it launches in the Americas on Nov. 18. During the launch window, more than 50 games will be available for Wii U, which will be offered in two different colors and configurations. The Basic Set will be offered in white at a suggested retail price of $299.99, while the Deluxe Set, which includes higher storage capacity, additional accessories and the new Nintendo Land™ video game, will be offered in black at a suggested retail price of $349.99.

At a special Wii U preview event in New York, Nintendo also unveiled Nintendo TVii, an application that will let Wii U owners in the United States and Canada find, watch and engage with their favorite video entertainment in fun new ways. Using the GamePad controller, Nintendo TVii lets viewers seamlessly explore available video content from a variety of sources – including live TV, their TiVo DVR and video-on-demand services such as Netflix – all in one easy-to-use interface.

Additionally, Nintendo shared new information about dozens of games on the way for Wii U, including Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros.™ U, LEGO® City: Undercover, BAYONETTA 2, The Wonderful 101™, Capcom’s Monster Hunter™ 3 Ultimate and Activision’s Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. New Super Mario Bros. U offers unprecedented ways for friends and families to play together and explore Mario’s world using the GamePad. Nintendo Land, which will be available as a standalone game or included with the Wii U Deluxe Set, is a virtual theme park featuring a lineup of 12 playable attractions based on Nintendo’s greatest game worlds, including The Legend of Zelda™, Metroid™, Mario™, Animal Crossing™ and Donkey Kong™. As an added bonus for consumers, a Chase McCain LEGO minifigure will come as a special pre-order bonus for those who pre-order a copy of LEGO City: Undercover at participating retailers while supplies last. All of these games will instantly immerse players in a variety of new game-play experiences that are available only on Wii U.

“The wait is almost over — in just 66 days, Wii U will arrive with the strongest lineup of launch software in Nintendo history,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “With the integrated second screen of the included GamePad and features that instantly enhance the way people play games, watch video and interact with each other, consumers will see how Wii U delivers a completely unique experience and a remarkable value right out of the box. The new system also creates extraordinary new possibilities for game developers, bound only by the limits of their imaginations.”

The Wii U Basic Set includes a white Wii U console with 8 GB of internal storage, one white GamePad controller, AC adapters for both the console and controller, a sensor bar and an HDMI® cable. In the Wii U Deluxe Set, components are black. This bundle includes all elements from the Basic Set, as well as the Nintendo Land game, increased console storage capacity of 32 GB, a console stand, GamePad charging cradle and a stand that allows users to place the GamePad vertically on a table. Consumers who purchase the Deluxe Set also will be enrolled in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which lets Wii U owners receive points for each digital download and redeem those points for future downloadable content from the Nintendo eShop. The promotion is currently planned through 2014.

Both configurations offer a wealth of one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences, including an online gaming community called Miiverse™ and the new Nintendo TVii application. Using the touch screen on the GamePad controller, Nintendo TVii users will be able to browse programming from sources they subscribe to, including cable and satellite channels, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube and even their recorded TiVo shows – all from a single starting point.

The selection of third-party games on the way for Wii U will include some of the industry’s biggest names and most beloved franchises. Injustice:Gods Among Us Game Features

If you've seen the trailers and gameplay featurette's of the new game Injustice: Gods Among Us, you've probably thought it is the same thing as Mortal Kombat only with DC characters thrown in to duke it out. Gametrailers has a great new video with one of the game programmers, Ed Boon.  He gives us an in depth look at what to expect from the game and also explains what sets this apart from other fighting/combat side scroll games that we are all familiar with. It looks like a blast to play.

No official release date yet other than sometime next year.

Penelope Cruz as Mario for Lucrative Nintendo Dress-Up Fetish Market

That's Monica Cruz's idea of humiliation? Couldn't she have picked something sexier for sister Penelope to wear? Notice Javier Bardem is nowhere in sight. Wouldn't have happened on his watch!

Check out this Super Mario Brothers 2 commercial. Does it make you want to play the game... or shag Penelope Cruz dressed up like Mario? Bet this brings back memories of dating Tom Cruise.

Lord of the Rings Lego Video Game Trailer

The Lego line of video games based around popular movie and comic book franchises are extremely well received with each new release. Whether it's in high sales or critical acclaim, these installments always find a way to deliver something to players young and old alike. Having played a few of them myself I can also vouch for the pure fun that comes inside of the gameplay. It's very reminiscent of the older days of video games, taking me back to when I would sit in front of the tv for hours with my mind deep into the SNES.

    LEGO Lord of the Rings
is set for release in October this year and will feature music, plot points, and also voice acting from all three films. The developers have stated that there will still be the fun and humorous elements found players are familiar with, but it's been toned down a bit to fit the elements and style of the Lord of the Rings story.

    Arkham City Sound Effects

Rocksteady has been heavily promoting the release of the Game of the Year edition for Arkham City which will feature new downloadable content that actually plays as part of the main story. Today a short video found it's way online showing a little behind the scenes work that goes into adding sound effects to the Batman video game world. It seems like being a Foley artist could be a lot of fun and full of good stories to tell when you're sitting around playing the games you worked on.

In Batman: Arkham City, players were drawn into the elaborate and engrossing world of the Dark Knight, and the reality of that universe depends on a talented team of foley artists and sound designers to bring it to life. In anticipation of the May 29th release of Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, this new video released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment goes behind-the-scenes with professional insights from Game Director Sefton Hill of Rocksteady and foley artist John Roesch (The Dark Knight, The Matrix, Inception, Fight Club). Viewers get a chance to head into the studio where skilled foley artists create the sound of beating up Mister Freeze, and go out to the world famous Warner Bros. Studio to capture the sound of live gunfire in an urban environment reminiscent of the streets of Arkham City. The video will help players prepare for the release of Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 29 in North America.

Newcomers to last year’s Dark Knight adventure will be able to pick up Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition on May 29 (North America), which includes all previous downloadable content (Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack) plus Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack. Fans who already own the original edition of Batman: Arkham City will be able to download Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack beginning May 29 on PlayStation®Network ($9.99) and the Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for Xbox 360 (800 Microsoft Points).

    "Assassin's Creed III" Trailer

The Assassin's Creed series is one of my newly annointed favorites. The fact that the game genies who created the newest entry in the series decided to inject the new assassin into the American Revolution trolling around my hometown of Boston doesn't hurt.

Assassin's Creed III is the opening chapter of two new stories: one of Connor, the newest Assassin, and one of a new nation, both in an epic fight for land and freedom. In this gameplay world premiere, travel through the early American city of Boston, battle man and beast alike as you explore the vast open frontier, and witness to the intensity and excitement of the Battle of Bunker Hill -- one of the most famous battles of all time.

"Batman Arkam City" Harley Quinn's Revenge Trailer

Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City – five times larger than the game world in Batman: Arkham Asylum – and the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.
