    Arkham City Sound Effects

Rocksteady has been heavily promoting the release of the Game of the Year edition for Arkham City which will feature new downloadable content that actually plays as part of the main story. Today a short video found it's way online showing a little behind the scenes work that goes into adding sound effects to the Batman video game world. It seems like being a Foley artist could be a lot of fun and full of good stories to tell when you're sitting around playing the games you worked on.

In Batman: Arkham City, players were drawn into the elaborate and engrossing world of the Dark Knight, and the reality of that universe depends on a talented team of foley artists and sound designers to bring it to life. In anticipation of the May 29th release of Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, this new video released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment goes behind-the-scenes with professional insights from Game Director Sefton Hill of Rocksteady and foley artist John Roesch (The Dark Knight, The Matrix, Inception, Fight Club). Viewers get a chance to head into the studio where skilled foley artists create the sound of beating up Mister Freeze, and go out to the world famous Warner Bros. Studio to capture the sound of live gunfire in an urban environment reminiscent of the streets of Arkham City. The video will help players prepare for the release of Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 29 in North America.

Newcomers to last year’s Dark Knight adventure will be able to pick up Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition on May 29 (North America), which includes all previous downloadable content (Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack) plus Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack. Fans who already own the original edition of Batman: Arkham City will be able to download Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack beginning May 29 on PlayStation®Network ($9.99) and the Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for Xbox 360 (800 Microsoft Points).
