Hot Toys Evil Superman

Hot Toys is creating the best part of Superman III in their sixth scale format figure. Is it Richard Pryor as bumbling computer genius Gus Gorman or Robert Vaughn as Faux Luthor? Thankfully it's neither of those wonderful mishaps from the third Chris Reeve Superman flick. Instead we will be getting Chris Reeve as the Evil Superman after being effected from the fake Kryptonite Pryor's character tried to harm him with.

Even after loving Man of Steel, my favorite scene in any Superman film is the junkyard fight between Clark and Evil Supes so it's great to see Hot Toys feel it's worthy of their famous sculpt. You can own this for the very low price $214.99. They also have payment plans at $71.66 a month if you need to watch that wallet a little closer.

Head over to Sideshow Collectibles to check out a full gallery of pics and specs about the figure.

Counterfeit Kotobukiya Items

Anyone collecting these Kotobukiya ArtFX+ statues know that they are not cheap, generally running around $50. The company has released a consumer warning alert letting their customers know of fakes that have been circulating around the web.

It has come to our attention that a company going by the name “Crazy Toys” is engaging in fraudulent and unlawful activity by manufacturing and distributing counterfeits of our Justice League ARTFX+ statues. Imitations of Superman and Green Lantern have currently begun to surface on the market. In an effort to inform and protect our customers from these inferior products we are providing the following insights as a general guideline of characteristics these bootlegs exhibit:

Product packaging consists of a cardboard box with wrap-around graphics and die-cut viewing window

Poor casting resulting in a lack of detail retention on the statue

Usage of inferior materials prone to warping and distortion

Missing or poorly applied paint

Magnets absent from the bottom of the statue’s feet

Bases missing the Justice League emblem or it remains unpainted

Kotobukiya appreciates your continued support and commitment when it comes to purchasing only officially licensed and manufactured products. If you have reason to believe a retailer is passing these items off as official ARTFX+ releases please contact us at questions@kotous.com.

SDCC Exclusives From DC Comics

DC Comics has been releasing exculsives for San Diego Comic-Con at the Graphitti Designs booth for a while now and this year seems to hold even more than before. You can see a list of all the great toys that will be available for purchase below.

DC Collectibles, the high-end toy and collectible line from DC Entertainment, today revealed four “con exclusive” products that will only be available to those attending San Diego Comic-Con on July 18-21. Check out the exciting line-up below!

The first is Aardman: Superman Action Figure designed by Rich Webber and sculpted by Phil Ramirez. Created by Aardman, the British brains behind “WALLACE AND GROMIT,” is their own unique take on the Man of Steel. He is based on the popular interstitial shorts shown during DC Nation on Cartoon Network. Aardman: Superman is approximately 6.5” tall and is priced at $24.95.

The second is a three-pack of Super Best Friends Forever Action Figures, designed by Lauren Faust and sculpted by Irene Matar. Super Best Friends Forever is also from the popular interstitial shorts aired during DC Nation on Cartoon Network and they are ready to take care of business! Meet Super Best Friends Forever: Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl, measuring approximately 6.5”, 5.45” and 6.8” tall, respectively. This three-pack is priced at $49.95.

The third, Batman Arkham City: Hugo Strange was sculpted by Sam Greenwell. The Hugo Strange Action Figure is based on the designs of the critically acclaimed video game from Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Batman: Arkham City. He measures approximately 6.75” tall and is priced at $29.95.

The fourth con exclusive is DC Comics’ Superheroes of Green Lantern four-pack. Green Lantern Sinestro and Dex-Starr were sculpted by Robert Lynders and Arkillo and Black Hand were sculpted by Phil Ramirez. Make sure to put the universe’s most fearsome foursome on your must-have list for SDCC; you don’t want to cross this intergalactic quartet! This set is in the 3.75” scale and priced at $49.95. This is the latest in the popular 3.75” con exclusive action figure from DC Collectibles.

DC Collectibles’ con exclusives will be available for purchase at the Graphitti Designs booth so make sure to stop by!

It's interesting that these items were first announced near the end of May and just last week DC popped another suprise exclusive for Superman fans to salivate over. I think it's safe to post here now with Man of Steel well into it's release that the most recent and probably final item at the booth will be the Gentle Giants Superman sculpt with black suit standing atop a base skulls.

This is a very quick scene in the movie and some people didn't even realize the suit was fully black until the release of this statue. Graphitti Designs has a great track record of posting the exclusives on their website shortly after the con is over so keep your fingers crossed that they offer the same option this year.

New CM Punk Shirt Featuring Art from Jill Thompson

A few hours before Wrestlemania 29 hit the airwaves on Sunday evening, there was buzz going around various in-the-know wrestling sites saying he had a new t-shirt planned to debut at the event. Sure enough Punk came out to face the Undertaker and revealed a nifty new shirt featuring himself in comic art format.

I was so caught up in the magic Undertaker and CM Punk produced during their match that I completely overlooked that the shirt featured the art of Jill Thompson. Thompson is known from her work on the book Beasts of Burden and she has designed a few WWE shirts previously for superstar Daniel Bryan.

It shouldn't come as a shock though as CM Punk is very well known as a huge comic fan and even teased a few years ago that he could be coming into Marvel writing his own comic with Thompson taking on art duties. Nothing has come of that yet, but he did pen the forward in the recently released Avengers vs X-Men hardcover. Maybe he could come up with something using a title of one of his nicknames, "The Second City Saint."

Wrestlemania 29 Results

The biggest spectacle in sports entertainment took place last night and I must confess myself severely disappointed in what resulted. Out of all the matches only CM Punk vs Undertaker stands out and created something memorable that fans can enjoy. WWE did the best they could to hype up the big Rock vs Cena rematch from last year and the live crowd wasn't all over it. I'm sure the buyrates were high because of the Rock, but hopefully WWE gives us something a little more special and memorable next year.

Check out all the results below courtesy of Wrestling Inc.

WWE Championship Match
John Cena defeated The Rock (c) to become the new WWE Champion

Wrestlemania 29 Hype Falls Short

On tonights episode of WWE Raw, the build up to all the matches of their Wrestlemania 29 card were in full effect. John Cena and the Rock came out seprately and defended why they would beat the other one for the WWE Title, Brock Lesnar stalked HHH and Shawn Michaels, and the show ended in an epic fashion as CM Punk disrespectfully opened up the urn and spread Paul Bearer's ashes all over a beaten Undertaker.

Vince McMahon also revealed that he now has a Twitter count and announced that he will have a huge announcement regarding Wrestlemania attached to this Friday's Smackdown program. With less than a week now to fully promote their huge event, Raw left the build up a little lack luster by normal standards and now WWE's Friday show, Smackdown, will have to try it's best to grab all those last second viewers for their #1 PPV.

While Cena and The Rock did very little to get fans anticipated for their rematch from last year, CM Punk and Undertaker ended out the show with an amazing sequence and it should end up being the match that everyone talks about after the event. WWE is certainly hoping for The Rock to give them the huge repeat business that Wrestlemania 28 brought in, but I wouldn't expect quite as high of numbers as they are just giving us a re-hash of last years main event with the WWE Title involved.

Oopa, Deadpool Style

Korean artist PSY has become an international sensation recently with his hit song "Gangnam Style". It's a catchy tune with a very simple dance that mimics riding a horse and a few other funny movements. The video above is a parody of the already odd and humorous offical version with Deadpool going around asking people to join him in the fun. The guy dressed as Deadpool has a few other videos that have become a hit online such as Deadpool vs ComicCon and Deadpool @ ShadowCon 2010

Welcome to the Bat-Theatre

A fun question to entertain yourself with is, 'What would I do if I won the lottery?' Some people would say buy a enormous house, some would say a couple of really nice cars, and a select few would say donate to various charities. Call it only child syndrome or just being plain selfish, but the last thing on my mind with all that money would be giving it away to support a cause.

A personal fantasy of mine is having a home theatre installed in the house for viewings with friends and family of any movie we want to see. Someone has taken that a step further and created a fantasy within a fantasy. What could be better than a personal theatre in the next room? Having that theatre themed as the Batcave.

Elite Home Theatre has given us a peek at one of their clients' request. It's said that this persons house is already fashioned after Wayne Manor and now they will be able to add an extremely cool Batcave theatre to the mansion. It features a sliding book case which opens to revel the Batmobile, the Batsuit, and a fingerprint scanner for access into the theatre.

Now the easy choice can be made should I ever be lucky enough to land the winning numbers of the powerball. If there are any of you kind hearted people out there that would donate your share to charity, then keep in mind that I am now founding one of my own for a child in need.
