Boxers In Negotiations To Fight Michael B Jordan's CREED

Michael B Jordan and Ryan Coogler's CREED has been on the low ever since it's announcement last year, and some may feel like the movie would never happen, with Jordan taking high profile roles such as Fantastic Four. Now, via THR it's reported that professional boxers Andre Ward and Tony Bellew are in negotiations to appear in the film.

Bellow will reportedly portray Creed's main nemesis, "Pretty Ricky Porter" whilst it's unknown what sort of role Andre Ward would have. Story details for the movie are unknown at this point other than the fact that Michael B Jordan's character -- Apollo Creed's grandson -- will be trained by Sylvester Stallone's Rocky.

The movie set to shoot in Philadelphia and Las Vegas -- two prominent locations from the Rocky franchise -- this January.

John Cena To Save Cinema; Playing Villain In "The Nest"

Not days after winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and gracing the cover of WWE 2K15, John Cena is set to finally play a villain for Universal's "The Nest" alongside Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler. Deadline broke the news today that Cena will play a villain role in the film despite the character details being kept tightly under wraps. The film is described as a "comedy about two sisters who throw one last party in their parents’ soon-to-be-sold house." with Pitch Perfect's Jason Moore set to direct.

Cena is not new to acting, as he made some great films such as "12 Rounds", "The Marine" and "Legendary". All three are pretty great and it's nice to see that Cena is branching out into new territory, but what does this mean for his current WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign? Will he take a break from wrestling after SummerSlam to film or can he keep both a filming schedule and a wrestling schedule?

First Look At Ben Affleck As Batman In "Batman Vs. Superman"

Zack Snyder just broke Joss Whedon's back by showcasing the first image of The Batman alongside his amazing new wheels. Zack tweeted this photo today as principal photography for the untitled Batman vs. Superman film has started. Admittedly, the lighting in the picture isn't the best but you get a sense of what the Batsuit looks like and it's clear that he isn't covered in riot gear unlike some mainstream adaptations of Batman recently.

Much like Zack Snyder's previous films, this looks like a comic book has sprung to life right out of the page. This verison of Batman has all the basic features; a utility belt, a cowl, high-tech gloves and a cape. He's not covered in steel plating or bullet-proof vests. Notably, the logo from the Comic-Con teaser of Batman vs. Superman is on Ben Affleck's chest, and whilst it may seem a little huge it's also reminsice of Batman in The Dark Knight Returns (a story this film is inspired by). Alongside Batman is the Batmobile, which is very simiplistic and classic in design yet feels modern and sleek.

We now await the new pictures of Superman and a possible Wonder Woman outfit!

Zack Snyder Adds Diversity As Ray Fisher Joins "Batman Vs Superman" As Cyborg

According to an exclusive from Variety, Theatre actor Ray Fisher has been tapped to play Victor Stone, AKA Cyborg, in the upcoming still untitled Batman-Superman feature from Warner Bros and Zack Synder.

Variety notes that well over the past few weeks, Warner Bros. have been test-screening several actors for this role, and whilst Variety's sources state that he won't have an important role in Batman vs. Superman, they claim that he'll have a major role in Warner Bros' upcoming film plans, including Justice League. Fisher is well-known for portraying Muhammad Ali in the Broadway play "Fetch Clay, Make Man".

It's no surprise that Warner Bros. is looking to include Cyborg into their upcoming film universe. He's a fantastic superhero that naturally adds some great diversity to their coveted superhero roster, unlike Marvel Studios. Cyborg has been apart of the Justice League in all major media over the past 2 years, ever since the New 52 launched and gave him a spotlight role, so most of the audiences are already aware of the character. Additionally, Henry Cavill noted that he would love to have Cyborg join the roster of superheroes in the future of Warner Bros feature films. Now, it looks like the "United Nations Justice League" that we reported about is falling into place with Zack Snyder casting people with a variety of ethniticies and cultural backgrounds.

Meanwhile, the untitled Batman vs. Superman picture shot a football game scene almost six months ago, before the big re-write and delay. It's unknown if this will be included in the picture at this point, but Vic Stone's origin as Cyborg in the New 52, and animated features involve the character as a star football athlete. Warner Bros is also including S.T.A.R Labs in their small-screen shows such as Arrow and The Flash, which are also important to Stone's origin. Heck, there was also an easter egg of the scientific company in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. In case you haven't noticed, Warner Bros. have for years, prepped the audiences with a character or theme that they plan to present in an upcoming DC Comics film.

Batman vs. Superman(: Age of Diversity*) is currently doing camera tests in Detroit and is said to head into production next month. We should be expecting the first images of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to drop within the coming weeks.

Paul WS Anderson Confirms New "Resident Evil 6" Details

Almost a year ago, Screen Gems had confirmed that visual auteur Paul WS Anderson would be directing the sixth and final installment of the highly-popular Resident Evil film franchise set for a September 2014 release. Obviously, this release window isn't going to happen since filming hasn't even started and we haven't even heard news about a cast.

However, CNTV got word from Paul WS Anderson at the Beijing Internation Film Festival (via SuperheroHype) that the next Resident Evil film may be titled "Resident Evil: Rising". There could definitely be something lost in translation or this could be a working title that gets changed, however it finally gives fans something to be excited about. Anderson also confirms the return of Li Bingbing as Ada Wong, and says the film will definitely be 3D as was the case with the previous two installments.

If the ending of Resident Evil Retribution is any indication, this film will be the real Avengers film I'm looking forward to. Stay tuned for updates to see if other cast members, such as Wentworth Miller or Ali Larter will join the sixth installment. Milla Jovovich will also return as Alice in the sixth installment of Resident Evil.

Sheldon Turner To Rewrite Doug Liman's "Splinter Cell"

New Regency and Ubisoft have hired Sheldon Turner (via Deadline) to pen a new draft of the Doug Liman-directed Splinter Cell adaptation starring The Dark Knight Rises' Tom Hardy. Liman, Hardy and Turner previously collaborated together on Everest, which was put on hold when another film of the same name and similar story got greenlit and put into production first. It's speculated that the collaboration on Everest was so good, that Splinter Cell-starrer Tom Hardy (who has been linked to the role of Sam Fisher since 2012) recently got Doug Liman on board and the two worked together to get Turner hired.

Splinter Cell is projecting an August production start with a 2015 release date. After many failed attempts at a big screen adaptation, it seems like the video game adaptation may finally hit screens. With Ubisoft also gearing up Assassin's Creed (starring Michael Fassbender) and Watch Dogs film adaptations, one has to wonder if video game adaptations will become the next hot thing after comic book adaptations.

Doug Liman Set To Direct "Splinter Cell" Starring Tom Hardy

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Doug Liman is set to direct the film adaptation of Ubisoft's long-running video game franchise, Splinter Cell. THR also notes that the film is gearing up for a production start of August 2014 and is being eyed for a release sometime in 2015, although when is unknown at this point.

Ubisoft has several other films in the works including Assassin's Creed starring Michael Fassbender and an adaptation of their upcoming game, Watch Dogs. Obviously, Ubisoft is playing a bold game with these video game movies as they're becoming more popular. Disney just recently released Need For Speed starring Aaron Paul, an adaptation of the EA racing franchise. Check out our article talking about some of the best video game films.

Splinter Cell is set to star Tom Hardy in the title role of Sam Fisher, whose had an impressive string of films lately and is set to appear in Mad Max: Fury Road as well as Child 44. Doug Liman is known for directing Jumper, The Bourne Identity and this year's Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise. Splinter Cell is written by Eric Singer.

Thomas Kretschmann Cast As Avengers: Age Of Ultron Villain

Hot off the heels of NBC's Dracula, star Thomas Kretschmann has been cast (seemingly) as Baron Von Strucker (via THR) in 'The Avengers: Age Of Ultron' -- set to start filming within the coming months. Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter has noted that Kretschmann's deal is for the character to appear in several films. However, it's unclear at this time whether or not they are just securing the actor to possible commitments or actually planning to build up HYDRA in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joss Whedon has previously cast The Blacklist's James Spader as Ultron, the titular villain of the film.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron releases May 1, 2015.
