Henry Cavill As Superman

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have provided the first look at the new Man of Steel, revealing star Henry Cavill as Superman in the film from director Zack Snyder.
The film also stars three-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne (What's Love Got to Do with It) as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent's adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Oscar® nominee Diane Lane (Unfaithful) and Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves).
Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Oscar® nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road), and Faora, Zod's evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman's native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman's mother, played by Julia Ormond, and Superman's father, Jor-El, portrayed by Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator).
Rounding out the cast are Harry Lennix as U.S. military man General Swanwick, as well as Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.
Man of Steel is being produced by Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, from a story by Goyer and Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

I am blown away by this. It's such a handsome piece of craftsmanship. Retro, yet space-age. The huge old-school "S" is gorgeous. Majestic, but formidable. And as for Cavill, he pulled off a perfect mix of regal and rugged on The Tudors, and given his excitement and commitment, he's going to rock this movie.
I could not possibly be happier with this suit. Thanks to the TMT crew for all of your awesome Superman coverage. This is only the beginning and I can't wait to watch it all unfold on this site.

I'd like to have a better look at the suit before I really decide, but so far so good. This is an incredible picture. See, Singer? THIS is how you present your hero to the masses for the first time!
Great first reveal here. Fantastic pose, the cape is glorious and the colors are nice. No complaints here, other than maybe try a different hairstyle.
So happy wb released a photo of cavill before it was scooped by some fan. Also the shot looks pretty cool. The suit design looks pretty good. Wish the pphoto was a bit brighter so we can see the blue better and to see if there are trunks. Overall looks pretty good. Can't wait to see more photos of it. Cavill looks great as superman.
Its funny now that the colours are so easily accepted when people were bashing the SR suit. At least this time they put him in an action shot and spent some time photoshoping it. It just goes to show its all about perception when these thing come out.
Henry Cavill looks badass! Better than Christopher Reeve. Yeah I said it. I liked Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman but I never thought he was outstanding. I liked the first 2 movies but they weren't great to me. The rest I didn't care for. I hope this is the Superman film I will finally love. Same goes with The Amazing Spider-Man.
