Crisis Adverted! Spider-Man Using Mechanical Web-Shooters!
The vibe we're all getting from the 3D Spider-Man reboot is whatever Sam Raimi did Marc Webb is going to do the opposite. Thus instead of Mary Jane Watson as the gal of Pete Parker’s dreams, it's Gwen Stacy. Instead of relegating Flash Thompson (a longtime comic-foil for Webhead) to a bit part during the high-school segment of the 2002 film, he's here in full force.
That also goes for the web-fluid debate. The three Raimi/Tobey Maguire flicks went for organic web-shooters, an idea originating from James Cameron's infamous 1993 "scriptment." When that (very solid) first look at Andy Garfield in the suit popped online last week, many noticed what appeared to be mechanical web-shooters on his wrists.
It didn't take long, but Music Television apprehended Emma Stone and got confirmation on the matter:
We'll have to wait and see if the Osborn family rears their heads or if the wall-crawler will spout out one-liners this time. Not to mention, where the Hell is J. Jonah Jameson?
