Frank Sinatra & Marilyn Monroe Cast!
The Times are reporting that George Clooney and Angelina Jolie have been cast as legendary icons Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe in an adaptation of the upcoming novel, The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe.
The book, by Andrew O'Hagan and set for release this December, serves as a biopic of Monroe, told through the eyes of her Scottish maltese poodle, Mafia Honey (nicknamed Maf), given to her as a present by Sinatra.
It's not known yet if there's already a director attached, but with this star power and plot we can likely expect to see an A-List director coming on board.
This might also mean that the Martin Socrsese directed Sinatra Bio-Pic may be put on indefinite hold. Al Pacino was set to star as Sinatra. As much as I love both Scorsese and Pacino the casting at this point sounded completely ludicrous, that is unless Pacino would only only play Sinatra later in life. Regardless I just hope Clooney opts of playing "Clooney" when taking on such an iconic role.
