Matthew Goode: The Man of Steel(?)

When I think of serious Kal-Els/Clark Kents contenders for Zack Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel, actors like Armie Hammer and Scott Porter pop in mind. Not so much, Matthew Goode.

Movie Newz claims the Snyder alum, having played Ozymandias in Watchmen, is the frontrunner to play a heavily CG enhanced Man of Steel for the 2012 reboot.

The latter reminds me of those Rupert Evans as Superman rumors during the Justice League: Mortal casting. Goode also, by his own admission, read for Bilbo Baggins. So a guy who could have been The Hobbit is supposed up for Superman?

The former has been floating around for years - carted around the Warner Brothers offices – long before they turned to Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. It appears the WB executives finally got that idea off the ground for Green Lantern, and notice how everyone just loves how that all CG suit looks?

Can’t say I buy either of these claims.

I thought Matthew Goode was the only miscast in Watchmen, how he's going to be miscast in Superman? What the hell?

Yea i seriously doubt the cgi enhanced superman stuff is true. There is no need for superman suit or superman himself to be a full cgi thing, minus action scenes where a real person isnt used. It would be seriously stupid. Like why go with someone like goode for example as he is and then when he does shirt rip he grows a few inchs and is a super buff guy? that is not superman that is hulk. As for goode he is an ok actor. But i dont see him as superman myself. But hey we are early in the process we are probably going to hear crazy rumors like this for the next few months. Hopefully its not true.

Yeah, he's a good actor, but just because he's tall doesn't mean he's suited for playing musical characters like Supes or Ozymandias

Stupid idea, even for internet BS. A digital stuntman is one thing, but an all CG Supes all the time? Realy? I'm not convinced that it's going to work for GL, but at least there it makes some sense since the suit is a construct of the ring. Whoever started this silly rumor must really be getting a kick out of the reaction.
