Movie Moan's First Audio Commentary - Never Say Never Again (1983)
We may have done our massive James Bond retrospective last year but there was a piece of unfinished business. We never discussed the unofficial 'Thunderball' remake from 1983, 'Never Say Never Again', a film which really could have been something special.......if they hadn't fucked it up.
But, as an experiment, Jamie and Phil have decided to do a whole audio commentary for the movie and you know the kind of random utterances that can occur when these two dudes get together. Harvey Fierstein, fine Atari products, horse death, the Village People, Sean Connery's Jewish stunt double, wishing the film to be over and talking about Kickstarter instead; all are covered in Movie Moan's first audio commentary.
Let us know what you think and, if you liked it, we may do more on a slow news week. Just remember, it was our first time so go easy on us.

Really fun listen, guys! I feel a lot of warmth towards NSNA, shortcomings and all, mostly because of Connery and Brandauer. It’s such a pleasure to see Connery clearly having so much fun being back as 007 (at least that’s how it comes across to me), and Brandauer is phenomenal, somehow managing to be both psychologically complex AND completely insane/over-the-top; he’s on my top 5 Bond villains list.
