Sir Patrick Stewart on X-Men: Days of Future Past Set

According to the latest tweet picture, Sir Patrick Stewart is still bald.

How Bryan Singer plans to include both sets of Professor Xavier (Stewart, James McAvoy) and Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender) has my utmost attention. He's not slavishly devoted to continuity; that much we know.

Besides his appearing in a "fixed" future at the end, can’t think of any other way to explain why Xavier has a pulse after X-Men: The Last Stand.

General Zod to Earth: "You Are Not Alone!"

It's not much but it will do as anticipation builds for the third Man of Steel trailer.

What was that "static" on the official site all about? It's a message from General Zod informing us we are not alone... and for Superman (or "Kal-El" as he refers to him) to surrender.

Sounds familiar:

We're wondering if it relates to Zod and a purported scene. The General interrupts all transmissions (TV, radio, Internet, cell-phones) warning the denizens of Earth. He's "traveled across an ocean of stars" to locate the criminal he refers to as "Kal-El." They can hand over the Kryptonian fugitive hiding among them or face annihilation.

When the static clears (depending on which theory you believe) it might be Michael Shannon and his soul-patch staring at us.

Is a "TOLDJA" in order?

Weekend Box Office: April 12 - 14

Courtesy of Box Office Mojo:

1.  42 - $27.2 million

2.  Scary Movie 5 - $15.1 million

3.  The Croods - $13.2 million

4.  G.I. Joe: Retaliation - $10.8 million

5.  Evil Dead - $9.5 million

6.  Jurassic Park 3D - $8.8 million

7.  Olympus Has Fallen - $7.2 million

8.  Oz The Great and Powerful - $4.9 million

9.  Tyler Perry's Temptation - $4.5 million

10.  The Place Beyond the Pines - $4 million

In baseball terms, this weekend was a home run for 42.  The Jackie Robinson biopic scored an estimated $27.2 million in theaters - the highest opening ever for a baseball film - and earned a stellar "A+" Cinemascore from audiences, which should keep it going strong in theaters at least until summer movie season kicks off at the end of the month.

Way back in second place was Scary Movie 5, which flatlined with $15.1 million, the lowest opening for the franchise.  Even the $15 million it managed to scare up is embarrassing, to be honest.  Who's still seeing these movies?

Families are still loving The Croods, which earned another $13.2 million, bring its domestic total up to $142 million.  G.I. Joe: Retaliation crossed the $100 million mark this weekend with $10.8 million, although it's still lagging behind the first G.I. Joe film at the same point in release.  Meanwhile, last week's champ, the remake of Evil Dead, had a predictable horror movie plunge and dropped 63%, but still managed to earn a solid $9.5 million.

In limited release, The Place Beyond the Pines - starring Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper - earned $4 million in just 514 theaters.

Next weekend sees the release of Tom Cruise in Oblivion, which has already grossed an excellent $61 million overseas.  With virtually no new competition to fight off, it should clean up here as well.

"Man Of Steel" Viral Site DSRW Project Receives Another Transmission

Fans have been frantic on the internet with what they were perceiving as "lack of marketing" for the upcoming sci-fi/actioner Man Of Steel. Although in reality the marketing has been fine, the past week or so, the masses really have nothing to complain about. This weekend especially.

The latest installment of the viral campaign features a return to the http://dsrwproject.com/. In December fandom decoded a message which lead to a Man Of Steel theatrical trailer and now the website needs your help again.

In December of 2012, you helped decode a series of transmissions that were mistakenly identified as deep space radiosignals but were in fact transmitted from Ellesmere Island in Antarctica. Despite their earthly origin, the symbols that were discovered cannot be traced back to any known language.

Today we received a new transmission believed to be an extension of the language decoded last year. This time, we have confirmed the message has been transmitted from space.

So far the very intellectually sound fanbase has deciphered the first word as "You". Our very own Jamie Williams believes the phrase might be "You Will Face Annihilation" Based off his previous post regarding a possible message from Zod, this could be the case.

I'm wondering if they are throwing out a nod to the previous incarnation of Zod, "You Will All Kneel". I know, I just rolled my eyes as well. Head over to the SuperHeroHype Forums and help the rest of the forum sleuths uncover the mystery and possibly the new trailer or a message from Zod on ManOfSteel.Com

What’s the Deal with That Man of Steel "Static"?

Superman hears the cries of the world begging for a Savior. We hear the cries of fandom begging for the Man of Steel publicity to commence. It's in full-swing.

Artwork from cross promotions leaking online (Kellogg's won't be alone for long), the big cover story on Entertainment Weekly and a third trailer expected faster than a speeding bullet. Henry Cavill will present at the MTV Movie Awards tomorrow evening and the worldwide press tour will soon kick off as we are two months shy from release.

So what's up with that static hijacking the official site?

We're wondering if it relates to Zod and a purported scene. The General interrupts all transmissions (TV, radio, Internet, cell-phones) warning the denizens of Earth. He's "traveled across an ocean of stars" to locate the criminal he refers to as "Kal-El." They can hand over the Kryptonian fugitive hiding among them or face annihilation.
