FIRST LOOK at Superman in BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

After Latino Review posted some interesting new slast night regarding a few villians set to appear in Zack Snyder's upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice the folks over at WB dropped our first look at Henry Cavill as Superman and a USA Today interview with Snyder himself as filming is underway in Michigan.

Speaking of Cavill, Snyder told USA Today:

Really digging in and evolving the character — both as Clark and as Superman — is a challenge, Snyder says, but there's also "the fun of trying to figure out what to put in front of him that's difficult."

Cavill is definitely more comfortable in the role the second time around, says the director.

"We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit," he says. "The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me."

Always good news, It's pretty easy to imagine stepping into the shoes of the most iconic superhero on the planet could take some getting used to. Cavill becomes more comfortable as Superman just as Clark does nearing the end of Man of Steel.

Also appeasing the complaint that "no one needs another ___ reboot" that fans adress for characters like Spider-Man, Superman, and Batman because their origin is so engrained in the public mind:

It ultimately made sense with Dawn of Justice to add Bruce Wayne and his cowled alter ego to the mix. Because of Christopher Nolan's recent Dark Knight trilogy, "I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie," Snyder says, "but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in."

Instead of using several movies to define Affleck's Batman, Snyder felt the character's 75-year mythology is so deep in culture now that they can just jump to an older, road-weary take on the Dark Knight. Plus, he says, "it's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys."

Snyder subtly addressed almost all fanboy criticism already coming at him for his new super-hero feature, even going so far as to call out the "batte" between BvS and Captain America 3, as well as the headline stealing fight between Avengers: Age of Ultron new and his own film.

"You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest," Snyder says. "I don't know how you get bigger than that."

PREDATOR Reboot Coming By Way of SHANE BLACK

While not all "big news" can necessarily be comic book related, The Hollywood Reporter dropped a pretty big bomb-shell that will at least keep people talking for a few days.

It appears 80's action director Shane Black (Lethal Weapon) will take a break from dodging questions and fanboy ass-hurt after last summer's Iron Man 3 to tackle the most manly and badass film ever made: the classic McTiernan sci-fi film which starred Arnold Shwarzenegger and Carl Weathers: Predator.

Black will write the treatment for the project, then will hand over scripting duties to Fred Dekker, his university chum with whom he wrote 1987’sMonster Squad. Black will oversee the writing and is also attached to direct.

Black also had a small role in the original film.

A bit of a strange move considering the last film in the franchise, PREDATORS, which released in 2010, was prime for a franchise expansion, that sadly never planned out.

Expect more from this as it develops and Robert Downey Jr. is cast at the Predator.

Teaser Poster for David Ayer's WWII Drama FURY; Brad Pitt Looks Sad

The emotionally resonant poster for David Ayer's (End of Watch, Street Kings, SABOTAGE) World War II drama FURY dropped today and shows one of the film's stars, Brad Pitt, sporting a bad-ass haircut and some serious pouty-face.

"War never ends quietley."

If there's one thing Ayer excells at (which is everything), it's taking seemingly cliche or tired plots and characters and making them into moving and exhilarating spectacle of film, and with FURY's out-standing cast and impressive pedigree, along with it's November release, I'd expect some serious Oscar buzz.

Here's hoping a trailer drops soon.

Written & directed by David Ayer (Street Kings, End of Watch), Fury follows a crew of Americans who embark on a brave mission. As the Allies make their final push, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany. Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs star in the film which Columbia Pictures has set for release November 14th later this fall.

Final Trailer And Character Posters for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Fans who participated in tweeting to unlock character posters for Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello received the final trailer for Paramount's upcoming Michael Bay produced reboot of the heroes in a half-shell.

The trailer finally dropped this morning after Donatello was the last character to be voted and revealed (ouch, no love for Donny).

The trailer promises insane thrills, captivating characters, and seriously bad-ass badguys by way of the suped up Shredder.

The film's cast includes Johnny Knoxville, Alan Ritchson, Whoopi Goldberg, Noel Fisher, Tony Shaloub, and William Fitchner.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. It'll Be RAMBO vs. Mexican Drug Cartels in RAMBO V

SAVAGES, End of Watch, SABOTAGE, 2 Guns and many more recent violent action movies have delved deep into the seedy world of Mexican drug cartels- and who better to try his hand at it next than Sylvester Stallone's Vietnam veteran John Rambo in RAMBO V?

Word comes from a German news website, translated by Coming Soon from Splendid Film:

Their release stated the following: "Mit 'Rambo V' kehrt Sylvester Stallone in seine Paraderolle zurück. Dieses Mal legt er sich mit dem mexikanischen Kartell an. Stallone, der auch für das Drehbuch verantwortlich ist, beschreibt den neuen Rambo als seine Version von 'No Country for Old Men.' Produzent ist, wie schon beim letzten 'John Rambo,' Avi Lerner ('The Expendables 1-3')."

Which translates to: "With 'Rambo V' Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone, who has also written the screenplay, describes the new Rambo as his version of 'No Country for Old Men.' Like the last film, 'Rambo V' is produced by Avi Lerner ("The Expendables 1-3")

Obviously there are no other details available; but after the violent and psychologically dark 2008 RAMBO which returned to his First Blood maturity, I'd say there's a lot to be happy about for RAMBO V.

Jason Momoa Continues to Playfully/Sexilly Skirt AQUAMAN Rumors

Last night, after earlier this week's confirmation of the new that was basically confirmed last year that Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa would be playing Arthur Curry/Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice everyone has been anxiously awaiting to see if he would continue to deny like he has (aggressively) been doing.

Well sure enough:

"Is that a rumor? or is it happening?" Kimmel asks.

"That would be pretty exciting," Momoa said. "What do you think? We'll just have to wait and see."

The conversation then goes into if Momoa is ever spoken to in Dothraki and then about his wife, and some other things.

Either way, Momoa will be struttin' his stuff summer 2016 when Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice blasts records opening weekend.

Watch The Final Trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

It's been a weird summer.

A lot of big movies have come out; but nothing has really been "big" save for X-Men: Days of Future Past and the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction. And, uh, Jersey Boys if you're into that.

Well don't forget the sequel to 2011's surprise reboot-hit is chimpin' into theaters on July 11, so take the family to see grim and crushingly depressing war between humans and apes.

The film stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Kerri Russel, Judy Greer, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Trailer for BIRDMAN Drops; Michael Keaton Plays Himself, Will Win Oscars

The trailer for Alejandro Inarritu (BABEL, 21 Grams) newest drama made it's way online and looks to pack a pretty heavy punch as all of his films seem to. In a pretty biographical role by Michael Keaton, the film also stars Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zack Galifanakis.

I'd imagine some prissy little nerds aren't going to be very happy when they buy tickets for this opening weekend expecting a "cool and dark" fedora-tipping cape-film like SUPER or Kick-Ass ; no, I'd wager this attracts the same crowd as PAPERMAN

A washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero must overcome his ego and family trouble as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory.

BIRDMAN releases October 17, 2014.

Terrifying Trailer for Eli Roth's THE GREEN INFERNO

Any horror fan can tell you that when people bring 1999's The Blair Witch Project up as the daddy of "found-footage" viral-fears, they're of course wrong- because that title belongs to the 1980 Italian film Cannibal Holocaust, which was so "real" it spawned court-cases and controversy for years and is still banned in most countries.

Eli Roth is said to be borrowing heavily from the film with The Green Inferno which follows Environmentalists kidnapped by the indigenous Peruvian inhabitants who turn out to have a taste for human flesh.

Courtesy of Yahoo! Movies:

A group of student activists travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a dying tribe. Unfortunately, they crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they protected.

The Green Inferno stars  Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Sky Ferreira, and Aaron Burns and rips into theaters September 5, 2014.
