Exclusive: Batman 3 IS Headed to the Big Easy

A few weeks back, Coming Soon/Super Hero Hype reported rumblings of New Orleans as a potential shooting location for Batman 3. Nothing was concrete, but Warner Brothers was wrapping up on the long Green Lantern shoot down here, and things went relatively smooth on the effects-heavy tentpole. So why not stay in business with folks one gets along with?

TMT has now received word from our sources that Christopher Nolan & Co. are in fact bringing the third Batman installment down to the Big Easy. Although it appears this will be entirely for interior shoots. Like Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before it, Chicago will once again be used for exterior filming.

So I wouldn't expect to see Christian Bale walking outside New Orleans wearing whatever new suits Team Nolan concoct. He'd have a real reason to yell at the crew with the intense humidity. Nor does this suddenly refuel those silly Killer Croc rumors.

Money talks and with the tax incentives being high in new orleans and the dollar so low it only makes sense. Now if people could stop thinking killer croc is going to be the villain.

Warner Brothers is here right now shooting The Lucky One (I believe it is another Nicholas Sparks adaptation). They never really left. In fact, The Lucky One was opening its office while Green Lantern was wrapping out their's.

I would love to get the call to work on Batman 3, but GL used a ton of crew from out of state.

Be nice to have a $100 million plus movie shoot here next year, since nothing immediately on the horizon that big for NOLA. Baton Rouge though is rolling in it with Battleship and Breaking Dawn going there.
