    Movie Moan: Packeeeeeers!

Depending on today’s Superbowl outcome, we could be on the money or off our rocker. If you got that we're referencing Mystery Science Theater 3000, then God bless.

The Movie Moan gang this week (Phil, Queen Kristina, Ed, Lou & Jamie) fill the hour discussing Disney's notorious ways of sugar-coating fairy-tales, Charlie Sheen, sodas of yesteryear and how Captain Hocken is in actuality a Gotham City resident.

In movie-news besides the BBC rubbing it into us Americans how the new Superman is one of them now, there's the insanity of casting Lois Lane and, apparently, Ursa and how it's inevitable we'll hear about Zod. Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes might be duking it out against Daniel Craig in Bond (2)3. Joseph Gordon Levitt is the latest Inception alum to join The Dark Knight Rises – cut to months of meaningless fan-speculation. And the acting oddity also known as James Franco being offered Oz: The Great & Powerful after Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp passed.

Movie Moan: When Sexy People Get Work

That's Queen Kristina's way of saying she approves of Henry Cavill.

Yep, the Sunday morning official announcement caught everyone by surprise. But we at Movie Moan (Phil, Queen Kristina, Ed, Lou & Jamie) could be, no way of verifying this, the first podcast to give you good listeners their two cents on our new Superman in the then lesser known (not anymore!) British actor.

So while the rest of the gang asks Phil how Cavill's like (since all British people know each other), reviews are given to Tangled, True Grit and William Friedkin's Sorcerer. In addition to the afore-mentioned new Man of Steel, this year's Academy Award nominations were announced and, not surprising, not everyone is 100% behind their calls. Phil gives a piece of his mind on Daft Punk being snubbed from the "Best Score" category. Not to mention, the apparent jealousy towards Christopher Nolan (No other way we can explain his "Best Director" snubbing) and how Hereafter got a "Best Visual Effects" nod over The Social Network and Tron: Legacy. Meanwhile, Lou relays his thoughts on Javier Bardem being offered The Dark Tower over fan-favorite Viggo Mortensen.

All of that plus Sean Astin being a pain in the ass, Will Smith forcing the world to love his kids as actors as much as it loves him and Ted Turner.

    Movie Moan: Twilight Swiners

The title is referring to Jamie's thoughts on teenage girls (the primary audience for the Twilight franchise) being swine. AKA Jamie just being a dumbshit for the umpteenth time.

That nonsense aside, this week's Movie Moan sees the gang (Phil, Queen Kristina, Lou & the afore-mentioned idiot) discuss the fact that Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy is Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Everyone reacts to the weeks' worth of pictures premiering X-Men: First Class and marvel at how silly Michael Fassbender looks in that Magneto helmet. Phil ponders the possible return of Arnold Schwarzenegger to the silver screen and her Majesty on a pivotal death being altered for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part II. Hide your children!

All of that plus, Robert Downey Jr. leaving Oz: The Great & Powerful and Johnny Depp possibly stepping in, At the Movies returns to television, no J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man reboot, Jamie's continued hatred of fanboys, Phil's thoughts on Black Swan and, of course, Justin Bieber!

Movie Moan: This One's For Welsh Film Buff

Loyal listener Welsh Film Buff wanted to hear the Movie Moan crew (Phil, Ed & Jamie, this week) give their thoughts on The Green Hornet, and he won't be disappointed. Don't expect praise from Phil or Jamie on this one. Hocken was smart enough to avoid it altogether.

Elsewhere, the guys discuss Ridley Scott's untitled 3D Alien prequel(s) turning into Prometheus. Thank God. The world got their first-looks at Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, Rooney Mara's Lisbeth Salander from David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Chris Evans in full-on Captain America mode. Even more Lord of the Rings regulars are locked in for The Hobbit. Some you expected (Sir Ian McKellen! Andy Serkis!) and others you didn't (Elijah Wood!)

All of that plus the third James Bond installment with Daniel Craig is officially set for November 9, 2012 much to the delight of Phil and Jamie, Shane Black is surprisingly onboard to direct the live-action film adaptation of the manga Death Note and the guys debate whether or not Tron 3 is really in our future.

Movie Moan: 2011 Preview & the Devil's Sex Life

This is what happens when Queen Kristina isn't around. The conversation gets...out there, or in the case of Jamie, the status of whether Tim Curry in Legend would be charged with statutory rape. Were Lord Darkness somehow able to appear on Law & Order. Don't blame them! They didn’t make the damn movie!

The Movie Moan crew this week (Phil, Ed, Lou & Jamie) instead fill out the near two-hour podcast discussing the forthcoming films for 2011. What they looking forward to, what they aren't, what will work, what won't and so on.
