Movie Moan: When Sexy People Get Work

That's Queen Kristina's way of saying she approves of Henry Cavill.

Yep, the Sunday morning official announcement caught everyone by surprise. But we at Movie Moan (Phil, Queen Kristina, Ed, Lou & Jamie) could be, no way of verifying this, the first podcast to give you good listeners their two cents on our new Superman in the then lesser known (not anymore!) British actor.

So while the rest of the gang asks Phil how Cavill's like (since all British people know each other), reviews are given to Tangled, True Grit and William Friedkin's Sorcerer. In addition to the afore-mentioned new Man of Steel, this year's Academy Award nominations were announced and, not surprising, not everyone is 100% behind their calls. Phil gives a piece of his mind on Daft Punk being snubbed from the "Best Score" category. Not to mention, the apparent jealousy towards Christopher Nolan (No other way we can explain his "Best Director" snubbing) and how Hereafter got a "Best Visual Effects" nod over The Social Network and Tron: Legacy. Meanwhile, Lou relays his thoughts on Javier Bardem being offered The Dark Tower over fan-favorite Viggo Mortensen.

All of that plus Sean Astin being a pain in the ass, Will Smith forcing the world to love his kids as actors as much as it loves him and Ted Turner.

    a bit about superman

jessica beil is a stiff actress

superman doesn't have an america flag infront of him, tha'ts captain america, superman is not only an Alien but he's an international hero unlike say spiderman who's stuck in a city. Who gives a crap if the character is american, if Tony stark was a bitish actor no one would care but Superman and Cap are a big deal...not to mention how great the new Sherlock holmes films are!

Yes he's 27, routh and reeve were 24, and if you look at his work in tudors(checking reference would be a good idea) he effectively plays a 60 year old and well.

Lastly, the original had a much older looking lois than superman.

This guy is great cause he can act with range, he has an adams apple and he's unknown.

so one of your hosts thinks the social network should be recognized for best sfx but Transformers didn't deserve to win in it's year!?!?!

The transformers movies don't have one effect! Just like Jurassic park the films have walking talking living breathing dancing fully rendered fully real looking characters for 2hours, the TF films were more than just one effect! Just like acting it's about truth in the midst of untrue events and the transformers films did a better job with it's audience than that damn coca cola commercial. Social network has a reworked face...yay good job.

I'm done with the oscars!!! I'm serious!!! I don't know who said it Lou or Ed but whoever said that it isn't new with the oscars snub jobs. Well the problem is that they keep DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!! Nolan being snubbed again for director was the last straw for me. I'm never watching any award shows! EVER!!!! Oh and btw the best actor in The Social Network wasn't even nominated!!! Oh and to give you a clue on the actor I'm talking about. He will be swinging on his mechanical webs summer 2012 in 3D.

    PS: FUCK THE OSCARS!!!!!!

(thank you for reading this rant)
