Megan Fox's Role in 'Jonah Hex is 'Basically a Cameo'

There are a lot of things to like about the forthcoming "Jonah Hex" movie -- and first among them is the cast.

The movie will star Josh Brolin (in the title role), John Malkovich, Will Arnett and Megan Fox.

In the hype for the movie, Fox has received the lion's share of attention. However, it turns out she may be getting too much attention.

“It’s basically a cameo,” Fox recently told MTV. “She’s a twisted love-interest to Jonah’s character; my part’s pretty small.”

And speaking of things that are small, I still can't look away from her freakishly small waist in this picture:

"Jonah Hex," based on the DC Comics character, is scheduled to be released Aug. 6, 2010, by Warner Bros.

    Final 'Halloween 2' Poster

Shocktillyoudrop.com has the first look at the final one sheet for Rob Zombies 'Halloween 2'. I am in two minds about the poster, there is a certain comic book villain quality about it that I like, but at the same time a side on shot of Michael running through a field with his big knife is an odd choice, especially for a final poster. Check the poster out below and let us know what you think.

'Halloween 2' will be dividing the fanbase once more from August 28th.

    New 'Sherlock Holmes' Posters!

Empire have hit upon a world exclusive, two new character one-sheets for Guy Richie's forthcoming 'Sherlock Holmes'. The posters are, as you might expect, of Holmes and Watson and while they are a little basic i like the way the imagery in the background is steeped in fog, very much a classic nod. As a lifelong Holmes fan I'm still not totally sure what to make of this take but it's clear they have GQ'd up Holmes and Watson.

    'Cold Souls' Trailer

It's a VERY slow news day but on my browsing travels I came across this little gem of a trailer at /film. The film stars Paul Giamatti and is about a man who essentialy decides to have his soul removed and then goes on a journey of self discovery. It's a quirky oddball comedy that will invite comparison's with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and features a perfect hangdog role for Giamatti who is never less than entertaining.

You can check the trailer below and the movie hits cinemas on August 7th.

    Trailer for Roland Emmerich's '2012'

He's at it again, Ol' Roland loves nothing more than mass destruction and from the looks of this trailer he is about to surpass himself. It has all the Emmerich staples of uninteresting looking "every day" characters and stunning shots of catastrophic carnage, I have to say that while this appears to be the usual vaccous tosh from him, the effects are pretty damn good and the destruction sequences are his most spectacular to date, hopefully this time he spreads them out better than in the past where is movies have suffered from premature spectaculation.

'2012' opens November13th and you can check out both the new US and International trailers below.

    GI Joe Promotional Round up

The critics must be rubbing their hands in anticipation at the prospect of reviewing Stephen Sommers 'Gi Joe: Rise of Cobra', they love a movie that is so awful they can simply write a review that allows them to put themselves over as "funny". Having said that there is little to defend from what we have seen so far.

First up is the new Tv Trailer and whilst it features a lot of footage already seen, it does expoose some more wonky CGI and clunky "comedy" exchange at the end.

Next we have 6 character posters via /film who have gotten them from a variety of sources that you can check out at the link. Below is the best of the 6, not surprisingly they are the ones for the Ninja's Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

    'The Stepfather' Trailer

This one seems to have leaked online much the same as the 'Whiteout' trailer Sean posted the other day, this time Bloodydisgusting.com were the ones to get hold of it. It's a remake of an 80's horror/thriller in which the Stepfather role was played by none of other than Locke from LOST!.....I mean Terry O'Quinn, this time the murderous Stepfather is played by 'Nip/Tuck' star Dylan Walsh. The trailer has echoes of 'Disturbia' and is clearly a glossy PG-13 deal that will no doubt do solid-forgot about in 2 weeks-business when it's released in October.

    International 'Basterd's' Poster

Badtaste.it has the new International poster for Quentin Tarrantino's 'Inglorious Basterd's' and personally I love it. To me it is an unashamed admission of the pulp style war movie it is, very reminiiscent of the macho and obvious posters from older war movies like the Dirty Dozen, a noted inspiration for QT.

Check the poster out below and go to Badaste.it for an even bigger version. 'Inglorious Basterd's' opens on August 21st.

Has Michael Bay Parted Ways from Transformers?

It's less than a week before Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is unleashed into theaters where upon it will slaughter everything in its path to become the highest grossing film of the year - at least here in the U.S.

A few months back, Paramount and DreamWorks officially set a July 1st 2011 release date for a third Transformers installment - this despite the fact that series director Michael Bay said he had already agreed with the studios on a Summer 2012 date so he could take a year off. In fact, he flat out debuked the claims and later said the matter had been resolved.

Some of us (i.e. me) assumed that the studios went back to their original 2012 plan since we heard diddly dick about Transformers 3 from either parties since then. Well, that shows what I know! Wenn.com (via IMDB) reports that Bay is calling it quits from the "giant robots that beat the shit outta each other" franchise:

"After the three and a half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world. I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions."

If you'll remember, Peter and I did an audio article (as a companion to a related piece) discussing the matter where I thought Bay was definitely coming back and Peter didn't. Well, Peter gets bragging rights on this one. *Sigh*

Update: Well, I still might be able to get the last laugh against Peter in this debate just yet! Straight from the horse's mouth, Michael Bay (responding on the forum from his website) has shot down the claims from this morning's rumors. Or as he put it:

    Hah,

Love press how they spin. Never said it - just wanted a vacation is more to the point. And no I don't read the good or the bad reviews.

Abrams & Cruise Officially Developing Mission: Impossible IV

When Tom Cruise first starting talking up plans for a fourth Mission: Impossible installment, I couldn't help but think, "Whatever, pal!" Then something funny happened a few weeks later, J.J. Abrams came outta nowhere and revealed his involvement. It was from then that I actually took notice of the project - probably along with most people.

And now Variety has confirmed that Mission: Impossible IV is in fact in development with Abrams and Cruise producing and a Summer 2011 release date being targeted. Now mind you, no screenwriters have been brought on-board at the moment. Nor has Abrams committed himself to directing duties. Hell, it's still a question-mark as to whether or not he'll direct the Star Trek sequel - which he will produce at the very least.

It's also a bit of a "foggy area" regarding Cruise appearing as I.M.F. agent Ethan Hunt again. His on-screen participation wasn't specifically noted. But then, maybe it's "No shit, Sherlock" logic and it's a foregone conclusion that he'll show up in some capacity.

Of course, there were those rumblings of Brad Pitt and even Brandon "Superman" Routh possibly taking over the franchise from quiet awhile back. So it's altogether possible there was some truth to those crazy rumors.
