Movie Moan 2015: Episode 4 - I Heard It Was A Bit Rude

Alright, let's get this over with :)

    Classic Movie Moan
Phil and Jamie are joined by  Matt Thompson, all of whom saw 'Fifty Shades Of Grey', though only one of them saw it on a date.  Try and guess which one.  And a bonus point if you can figure out which one of the three only made it to the first hour of the movie before becoming comatose.  And two bonus points if you can tell us why the line "I'm fifty shades of fucked up" had to be uttered in the film (4:28).

To make us feel manly again, Matt has the scoop, and the script, for 'Mission Impossible 5'.  We had this conversation before the recent news about the reshoots but, trust us, it needs them.  Based on what Matt tells us, it REALLY needs them (31:30).

    Marveling At The Future
Phil and Spencer Perry are joined by special guest, also from the Coming Soon.net family, Mr Edward Douglas as we, though late to the party, ask and answer all the important questions relating surely the biggest piece of entertainment news that will hit this year - Spider-man's entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (55:25).

Do we still care about the character?  Does the audience care, regardless of the studio that makes the film?  Will a secret identity reveal in 'Captain America: Civil War' ruin the series before it starts?  What do we want the solo movie to be?  What's the title?  Should we be pissed off that all those other Phase 3 movies have been delayed?  Why did Marvel Studios agree to the deal?  Will we have to deal with bloody Symbiotes again?

And we just have time at the end for a special announcement of another video coming your way very shortly on Movie Moan TV (1:44:42).

    Movie Moan 2015: Episode 3 - A Little Ronery

Phil's on his own this week.  Please join him so he doesn't get lonely...

    Classic Movie Moan
Phil thought that his film universe would stay in harmony but that depends on certain factors, including the fact that he will always enjoy a movie made by the Wachowski's, however divisive it may be.  That is no longer the case and Phil is here to ramble for 40 god damn minutes and tell you why 'Jupiter Ascending' really is the worst film they've ever made (5:38).

    Marveling At The Future
Spencer Perry and Phil Gee are a little late to the party on that trailer for Josh Trank's 'The Fantastic Four', but that doesn't mean our opinion doesn't count right (47:44)?  After that, we delve into the realm of R rated comic book properties, and whether they need to be R rated films in order to succeed as quality pieces of entertainment.  We ask the question 'what do you do with The Punisher?' (52:56), and the equally probing 'does Deadpool have to be R rated?' (1:15:12)

    Cinematic Happy Comfort Food

The awesome Capt. Ed Hocken joins Phil to talk about one of the films he always pulls off the DVD shelf to fill that cinema sweet spot; 'L.A Confidential' from 1997 (1:30:06).

Movie Moan 2015: Episode 2 - For Shame Oscars, For Shame!

Phil thought he couldn't hate the Academy Awards more than he already does but when you snub the Roger Ebert movie, you go too far (40:06).

So as well as a rant for the ages from the English gentleman on that subject, tonight we also join Jamie Williams, special guest from last week Matt Thompson, and Mr Shawn Robbins, writer and editor for Box Office.com to discuss...

    Classic Movie Moan
In a piece of news which went out of date the day after we recorded it, Jamie pitches that 'Mission Impossible 5' will move from December to January in order to get some of that 'American Sniper money (8:04).  Phil has literally just come back from 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' and will not spoil any of it, but will tell you why it's not worth counting down the days for (13:09).  But Phil and Shawn do implore you to get out to whatever theatre is playing 'Whiplash' and make sure to see it with a collective audience.  This is a film which deserves it  (18:54).  Finally, right before it opens, we predict just how well is '50 Shades Of Grey' is going to do at the box office (27:37).

    Marveling At The Future
Spencer Perry and Phil Gee return to share their hopes and dreams for two upcoming comic book movies.  Firstly, Spencer educates Phil on just why WB making 'Suicide Squad' is so important and smart (58:40).  Then, Phil pitches to you on who the logical choice to direct 'Thor: Ragnarok' is (1:12:07).

    Memo To The Executives
Matt Thompson and Phil Gee take a look at the potential movie franchise of tomorrow - the film adaptation of the video game franchise 'Assassin's Creed'.  We try and figure out whether it will actually work as even a decent film, using one of the latest drafts of the actual script as a roadmap (1:27:39).

Movie Moan 2015: Episode 1 - Once Upon A Beginning

    IT IS ACCOMPLISHED!

We would like to extend a huge and warm hug of a welcome to the brand new, rebooted, Movie Moan podcast, available to you as a full two hour high definition show on Youtube, as an MP3 on Soundcloud, and as separate videos on our Youtube channel for the separate segments. Watch or listen to it any way you like.

Movie Moan 2015 is broken down into three individual sections. On our first episode:

    Classic Movie Moan
Join Phil Gee, Jamie Williams, and Matt Thompson as we review 'American Sniper' (11:42) & 'The Theory Of Everything' (17:27). We debate why Phil and Jamie are afraid that the next James Bond film 'Spectre' is going to blow, and Matt (having read the latest script) tries to convince us it won't (26:42 - light spoilers). But Matt certainly won't try to convince you that 'The Fantastic Four' is going to be any good and tells you what The Thing is really going to look like (9:25).

    Marveling At The Future
Join Spencer Perry and Phil Gee for our regular section devoted to the world of comic book adaptation media as we review the first two episodes of 'Agent Carter' (63:30, bemoan the trailer for 'Ant-Man' while still believing in its potential (88:48), and tell you of our hopes and dreams for the Netflix 'Daredevil' show (80:55).

    Cinematic Comfort Food
Matt Thompson once again joins Phil to discuss why the film that made him want to make movies, that opened up the joy of cinema to him, the film that he always grabs off the shelf when he needs cheering up.......is John Carpenter's 'Halloween' (1978) (103:33).
