Clint Eastwood Taking Over American Sniper for Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg was set to make American Sniper, the story of the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle with Bradley Cooper attached to star. Until he decided against it, pulling not only his directorial duties but yanking DreamWorks out of the equation leaving Warner Brothers to find a replacement.
Twitch says the studio has gone to their homebound Clint Eastwood who has reportedly "gotten the nod" for taking over the job. Old Clint is more hit-and-miss than the slobbering critics who give him a free pass want to admit (Changeling, Hereafter, J. Edgar, Gran Torino). But I have to say, he seems more appropriate for this subject matter than the Beard.
No word on if Cooper remains onboard or if this will be his next project after completing the musical Jersey Boys for the Brothers Warner.
