The Raid 2: Berandal Indonesian Trailer

The Raid, the Indonesian action thriller from Gareth Evans, was one of the pleasant surprises to come out of 2012 and the best action film to hit screens in years. He is back with a vengeance with the sequel The Raid 2: Berandal and he made sure to bring back all the bone-crunching, hand-on-hand combat.

Tom Cruise No Longer a MAGNIFICENT SEVEN; My Dad Silently Cheers

If you're my dad, you probably don't want The Magnificent Seven remade, let alone starring Tom Cruise; but now according to The Wrap it appears Cruise, who has been involved in the project since MGM decided "let's remake everything lol" in 2012 (which includes the upcoming Poltergeist film as well as 2014's brilliant looking ROBOCOP), has since left for undisclosed reasons and also Saving Mr. Banks and The Alamo director John Lee Hancock is on to rewrite the film.

Cruise first became interested in “Magnificent Seven” back in May 2012, when MGM began developing a remake of its library title, though with his busy schedule, the project was never in his immediate plans. Pizzolatto was hired in August 2012 thanks to heat generated by HBO’s upcoming miniseries “True Detective,” which stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson

    The Wrap goes on:

Hancock is no stranger to the Western genre, having co-written and directed “The Alamo” for Disney, which has maintained faith in the filmmaker despite that film’s disappointing box office performance. Not only did the studio entrust him with its own Walt Disney movie “Saving Mr. Banks,” which is currently in the awards conversation, but it also turned to Hancock to fix its upcoming tentpole “Maleficent.” Hancock wrote several new scenes and helped oversee reshoots on the $200 million-budgeted Angelina Jolie movie.

No release date is set for the remake, which is reported to star Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, and Matt Damon.

The Magnificent Seven, based off of the acclaimed Akira Kurasowa film The Seven Samurai spawned 3 sequels and a CBS television series and starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter and Horst Buchholz.

Gal Gadot Discusses Wonder Woman Training; Breasts

Batman News worked their wonder and brought a translation actress Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious Franchise) did with an Israili TV station, in which the actress discussed her role as Wonder Woman in the upcoming untitled Man of Steel sequel.

First up the actress adressed the "complaints" about her not being Wonder Woman's cup-size:

It’s been said that you’re too skinny for the part. Wonder Woman is large-breasted, is that going to change?

Hmm. I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world. Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go “by the book”…it’d be problematic.

I couldn't care less if Wonder Woman is flat chested or rounded, but I guess the fanboys do? Gadot then talks about the training method that ol' Zack "The Man" Snyder has her on:

So you’re not going to gain a little weight and start eating carbs before filming begins?

It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now. A very serious training regimen – Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian…1,000 and 1 things…I’ll gain body mass.

So there you go, it appears Wonder Woman will be adding more to her role as "Warrior Princess" than a golden lasso, with swords and advanced hand-to-hand combat.

The film stars, so far, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Lawrence Fishburne, and Amy Adams and releases Summer 2015.

Official Poster For "The Right Kind Of Wrong"

Leo Palamino has dedicated his life to what some may call impossible dreams. At least his ex-wife Julie would call them that. But Leo is an expert at not listening to her criticism or anyone else’s for that matter because Leo is a stubborn romantic... An idealist. A dreamer. And to dream big, impossible dreams you can’t listen to the people who tell you that’s what those dreams are.

It is precisely this refusal to listen to criticism that drove his ex-wife Julie to blog about Leo’s flaws as their relationship broke down. A blog... called Why You Suck that would become a cultural phenomenon. And so when we meet Leo Palamino, he is a romantic dreamer, a dedicated writer, a dishwasher in a tourist trap, and a celebrity...

A man famous for his flaws.

Then one afternoon, as the very dejected Leo watches Julie being interviewed on a talk show about her upcoming book, he lays eyes on the woman of his (impossible) dreams... COLETTE is on her way into a wedding across the street from Leo’s house.

    Her wedding.

Sort Of New Poster For "Paddington"

Loved Paddington Bear as a kid so I'm pretty excited they are working on a film version. Interesting that the studio is comparing the project to E.T. in the synopsis released last year; this either sets unreachable expectations for Paddington or sets a foundation for a brilliant marketing campaign.

Below is a sort of new poster. Same image as the one released last year but the previous version featured no actors and read "The Adventure Is About To Begin" and "Arriving 2014" Maybe not such brilliant marketing after all...

From the producer of HARRY POTTER, a modern take on the iconic and beloved adventures of Paddington bear, translated into 40 languages worldwide.

Adapted from Michael Bond’s beloved books, PADDINGTON tells the story of a polite young bear from Peru with an endearing talent for comic chaos, who arrives in London in search of a home.

Paddington has grown up deep in the Peruvian jungle with his Aunt Lucy who, inspired by a chance encounter with an English explorer, has raised her nephew to cook marmalade, listen to the BBC World Service, and dream of an exciting life in London.  When an earthquake destroys their home, Aunt Lucy decides the time has come to smuggle her young nephew on board a boat bound for England, in search of a better life.  Trusting of the kindness of strangers, she ties a label round his neck which simply reads ‘Please look after this bear.  Thank you.’

Lost and alone at Paddington Station, Paddington soon finds that London is not the welcoming, well-mannered land of his dreams, but a rather busy, bustling metropolis where nobody even notices him.  Luckily, he meets the Brown family who feel unable to abandon this homeless young bear to his fate.  They name him after the station where they found him and offer him a place to stay while he searches for the only person he knows in London: the explorer who impressed Aunt Lucy years before.

But little do the Browns realize just how much comic mayhem one young bear will bring to their family life, and when this rarest of bears catches the eye of a sinister, seductive taxidermist, it isn’t long before his home – and very existence – is under threat…

Following in the footsteps of E.T., Paddington tells the universal tale of an outsider trying to find his place in the world – and gives it an exuberant comic twist.  Like Mr. Bean, Paddington promises to delight and enchant the whole family.

Wonder Woman Lynda Carter Hands Off The Lasso To Gal Gadot

When Man Of Steel 2 went from Batman Vs Superman to a loose take on a Trinity film with the casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, I was hoping we would here from Lynda Carter. She is basically the Christopher Reeve of the character.

The actress kicked ass in short star spangled shorts on TV from 1975 to 1979. The METRO caught up with the actress who was gracious in passing the lasso off to Gal Gadot.

On The Everlasting Appeal Of Wonder Woman:

"There's an identification factor. She's not your average superhero. It's not so much about her super powers as it is about her ethic. I always thought of her as a figure who stands for what's right. We all know what's wrong with the world today, so maybe we need her right now."

On Somebody Playing Wonder Woman Other Than Herself:

"I don't think so. It was a long time ago. I care more about the character continuing than holding on to my piece of it. I hope she has fun with it."

On Sharing The Screen With Batman & Superman:

"And maybe that's better. She won't have to carry the whole film. It takes the pressure off. I wish her well. I'm just glad she's going to be out there again. Maybe she'll get her own show again."

First Poster for Paul W.S. Anderson's POMPEII

The first poster for Paul W.S. Anderson's (Resident Evil, Three Musketeers) historical epic POMPEII has dropped courtesy of the film's official Twitter.

The poster shows the film's stars, Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones, Silent Hill: Revelations 3D) and Emily Browning (Sucker Punch, Sleeping Beauty) in a passionate embrace as Mount Vesuvius errupts behind them onto the city of Pompeii with the foreboding words "No Warning. No Escape".

Set against the backdrop of the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., this is the epic story of Milo, a young slave-turned-gladiator who must fight to save Cassia, the woman he loves, from the clutches of a corrupt Roman senator, before the city is destroyed

POMPEII releases February 21, 2014 and stars Kit Harrington, Emily Browning, Carrie-Ann Moss, Kiefer Sutherland, Jared Harris, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
