Seth Grahame-Smith to Produce Gremlins Remake

Another of your VHS fixtures growing up in the 80s and 90s is getting repackaged for youngsters, and those in our age bracket today. Warner Brothers is officially commencing with a Gremlins redo, as opposed to the longtime In Development Hell sequel, reports Bloody Disgusting.

And the honors lie to Seth Grahame-Smith, responsible for Get Rich Quick Schemes-cum-best-selling crap Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, will co-produce. He recently ran his pen (read: laptop) through a Bettlejuice sequel that may or may not appear if you say his name three times.

This might never go past Development phase but the latest rumblings, as of months back, had the studio waiting for Steven Spielberg to give the thumbs up. Even with his non-participation he still gets a check and still has to OK everything. Not too worked up over revisiting Gremlins personally. I suppose it was bound to happen (Everything is about brand-name recognition these days).

The '84 original is fine but my heart always belonged to the bat-shit crazy, and brilliant, 1990 sequel.
