Gavin Hood Attached to Ender's Game

The closest I recall Ender's Game hitting the silver screen was about a decade ago. Ron Howard was attached to direct and Jake Lloyd to play our hero Andrew "Ender" Wiggin. That never materialized and the Orson Scott-Card novel has long since been labeled as a "If only someone will make it" movie amongst fans. If the Lord of the Rings trilogy can be accomplished, I don't see what's stopping Ender's Game (and Dune for that matter!)
24 Frames reports Odd Lot Entertainment is getting the wheels turning in development. They've gone as far to nab director Gavin Hood as their man for the job. He's already rewritten a recent draft penned by creator Card himself.
They're quick to note however that doesn't 100% mean he'll direct once financing is secured - assuming they acquire proper funds. For some reason, I find it odd them stating that. Of course, there's a chance he won't direct.
At least it's an upgrade from Wolverine.
