Will Fassbender choose X-Men or Spider-Man?

Michael Fassbender must be doing something right. He's reportedly being offered two different roles for villains in two of Marvels most successful franchises.
He was offered the role of young Magneto in X-Men first class, and an unknown villain in the Marc Webb directed Spider-Man reboot. Already cast for X- Men is James McAvoy as young professor Xavier.
According to Showbiz411 who broke the story, Fassbender can't fit both films into his schedule and will have to pick one or the other.
Being as I don't care much to see the Spider-Man reboot, and I have no idea what villain he's up for, I think he should go with Magneto. Under producer Bryan Singer and director Matthew Vaughn I think X-Men has a much better chance at being successful, as opposed to the Spider-Man reboot being helmed by Marc Webb who directed 500 days of summer last year.

He'll be playing Carlton Strand in the Spider-Man reboot.
That is, in my imaginary universe where the Spider-Man reboot is heavily based on James Cameron's Spider-Man, minus the dumb parts.
