Box Office Actuals April 30 - May 2

The box office actuals are in for April 30 - May 2. A Nightmare On Elm Street had a somewhat strong opening coming in at number one with 32.9 million, and the other new opening this weekend Furry Vengeance failed to deliver, as expected. How to Train Your Dragon refuses to stay down, landing in the number two spot bringing in another 10.6 million this week

Next weekend we have Iron Man 2 (check back later tonight for my review) which will no doubt be taking the number one spot. You can expect Nightmare to take a huge drop, and possibly even fall out of the top ten sooner then later depending on word of mouth, as most of the reviews so far have been very bad.

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (New Line/WB) - $32.9 million

2. How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks Animation/Paramount) - $10.6 million

3. Date Night (20th Century Fox) - $7.5 million

4. The Back-Up Plan (CBS Films) - $7.2 million

5. Furry Vengeance (Summit) - $6.6 million

6. The Losers (Warner Bros.) - $5.8 million

7. Clash of the Titans (Warner Bros.) - $5.8 million

8. Kick-Ass (Lionsgate) - $4.5 million

9. Death at a Funeral (Sony/Screen Gems) - $4.1 million

10. Oceans (Disney) - $2.5 million

Check back to TMT on Wednesday for this coming weekends Box Office predictions.
