Warner Bros has finally made it official, and it's about damn time!
The third installment in the Chris Nolan directed Batman franchise will hit theaters on July 20, 2012 in conventional and IMAX theatres!
That is a little over two weeks after Sony Pictures is releasing their Spider-Man reboot on July 3, 2012, but I'll be expecting to hear that Spider-Man's getting the bump back to May, with news of Batman set to take over July.
The most recent Batman film directed by Chris Nolan, The Dark Knight earned over 1 billion world wide at the box office. With The Dark Knight, Batman faced both Heath Ledgers Oscar winning turn as the Joker and Aaron Eckhart has Harvey Dent/ Two Face.
If I had to guess, we'll be getting the official Batman 3 title before the end of the summer, and we'll be hearing some if not all the casting news along with a possible synopsis by the end of the year. Production will likely start early next year, with a possible teaser trailer at next years Comic Con, similar to what we got in 2007 with the The Dark Knight.
Check back to TMT, as we'll be covering the Batman 3 news rigorously over the next couple years.
