    A Teaser Trailer on Elm Street

    Just before the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con kicked off, MySpace got an exclusive “first-look” of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot (which we reported here). Now they’ve got another exclusive – this time in the form of the film’s theatrical teaser trailer. And to think I gave up on MySpace and moved over to Facebook and Twitter.

    Consider me officially "50/50" on this one. It certainly carries over the atmospheric yet slick-n-glossy look from previous Plantiun Dunes horror relaunches like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th, and Haley looks on-the-money as the new Krueger. Robert...who?

    But it's a bit too "shot for shot" compared to the original Wes Craven film at times for my tastes. Coincidentally, we were just discussing the infamous "bath-tub" sequence on the Movie Moan podcast. Small world...or are we just perverts? You decide! And I still find it not so encouraging that it will hit cinemas the week before Iron Man 2 kicks off the 2010 summer film season. Almost feels like it's being bumped. Let's hope I'm wrong.

    I thought the Teaser looked amazing!!! I think and I'm hopeing they'll do a great job in bringing Freddy back and more importantly making him scary again, It's been a while since he was actually scary....probably 20 years

    Damn it, they just couldn't help themselves could they? They had to show his face. They were doing such a great job of keeping it hidden right up till the end.

    ^^I think that would suck huge balls! The whole idea of the remake is to make Freddy scary again...He was medicore by the end of his run in the old franchise. The last thing we need is Freddy being a tortured Victim who was wrongly accused or "the good guy" ugghhh

    funny = pathetic

    freddy should never be a good guy. is Raimi directing this movie or what? there was a time when villaisn were..............evil. i know i know its a shock. its a shock that some people are just evil.

    hahahahaha^^

    Raimi's last movie drag me to hell wasnt bad. When I first heard that Platinum Dunes had hired Samuel Bayer the commercial and music video directer I wasnt thrilled at the idea of his feature film debut being the NOES remake. But after having seen the first teaser trailer I have much higher hopes, I loved the old NOES series even though only the first two were really worth watching.

    Lets hope PD can actullay breath new life into this franchise and have Freddy just be "evil" again, And not Funny/pathetic/cheesy like the last time we saw him
