Vacation Returns!
Thank God. To think I was worried that studios would dust off a property nobody cared about. But this news reassures my concerns (Read: Kill me).
THR confirms that Warner Brothers (via New Line Cinema) is moving forward on yet another installment of the “How Could This Possibly Still Have a Pulse?” Vacation franchise. This “sequel” will entail Rusty Griswold (played in four films by Anthony Michael Hall, Jason Lively, Johnny Galecki and Ethan Embry) and his own attempts to taking his family on a vacation. And wackiness ensues thereafter?
The studio and producer (and possible director) David Dobkin are currently hearing out screenwriters with their pitches on how Rusty will presumably lose his shit over the course of two hours. Who would have thought Fred Claus looks good on his filmography now?
Although no deals are in place, Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will most likely makes appearances for “a sense of continuity.” I guess going through eight different actors as the Griswold kids over the course of twenty years wasn’t considered confusing for audiences.
Does that mean Cousin Eddie will show up too?
