Movie Moan Audio Commentary - 'Steel' (1997)

Join Phil Gee & Randall Maynard, co-hosts of 'Supermoan: The Ultimate Superman Retrospective' for a look at the loosest possible definition of the term 'spin-off movie' as one of the four imposter Supermen who took over during the death of the man of steel, comes to the big screen in an epic $16 million dollar production.

But if you think we're just going to tear 'Steel' to pieces then you've got another thing coming.  When all is said and done, it isn't the worst comic book movie that came out in 1997, the year that brought us 'Batman & Robin' and 'Spawn'.  We will try and make the argument that 'Steel' has merit, that it has heart, charm, and intentional humour.  It just also has a costume that......,is problematic.

So watch the film (if you can find it) along with our audio commentary as we try and make an entire film studies class out of a mistreated and misunderstood film.

On a final note, Randall corrected me very shortly after we recorded the commentary and pointed out, as you can see above, that they DID release a toy of Steel and his amazing bike.  I hope he gets one for me.
