Movie Moan - An Evening With Robert Meyer Burnett

Hey folks, the regular edition of our show should be up by Wednesday.  To tide you over until then, we would like to present a special audio only bonus feature as part of our two disc special edition of Movie Moan this week.

We are once again humbled and honoured to be joined by DVD/Blu Ray producer & filmmaker Robert Meyer Burnett as we enjoy a laidback discussion on some of his favourite experiences working in the industry producing supplemental material for DVD projects such as 'The Lord Of The Rings: Extended Editions', 'Tron' and 'Superman Returns', as well as exploring why studios are not as invested today into producing top quality catalogue releases, the films we're still waiting to get that proper treatment, the future of home media beyond Blu Ray, and close with a sneak peak at the project he is currently working on; the upcoming Blu Ray releases of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'.

Great conversation with Burnett about his DVD/Blu projects and film literacy.

Burnett is a douche bag. Did he work on some cool shit? Yeah. But he did not "create or invent" those jobs. His big mouth only makes him an expert to people who don't better. How many people does he owe money to? How many judgments against him? How many promises made? Bridges burned? Pay me what you owe me Rob. Deliver what you promised. Stop blaming others for YOUR fuck-ups.

    Dear The Truth,

As you know, it's not easy to make a motion picture. Burnett did create FREE ENTERPRISE with Mark Altman. Co-wrote, directed and edited it. So he is a creator. And, say whatever you want about the film. It resonates with me.

I don't know the aspects of Burnett's personal life. Nor do I care to. He speaks his mind well when it comes to film and I enjoy his musings. And, FWIW, all my interactions with him in person have been pleasant.

Haters are gonna hate. But, insulting his fans gets you nowhere.

And if I may throw in my voice here as well Mr The Truth, your comments are clearly very specifically and personally aimed at a person who is not here to read them.

Robert is not going to see this page and he isn't going to see your comments, hence they are completely redundant. Those of us who do come here are just left scratching our heads as to what you're saying. Robert is a very visible presence on the web and if you have business with him then it makes more sense to use a forum where he will actually see what you have to say.

Finally, Robert has taken huge time out of a presently crushing schedule TWICE now to do a podcast with a bunch of guys and gals he's never heard of and he is quickly becoming a member of our family here at Movie Moan. As such, we will not allow personal attacks to be made against him here.

So with all due respect, please kindly take it elsewhere.

    All the best.

    Hmmm,

No denying I'm a douchbag...five minutes listening to me prattle on will tell you that! However, I've spent twenty three years in the entertainment business. My past and continuing work speaks for itself. I have no judgements against me. Any bridges burned can always be rebuilt.

Most importantly though, I NEVER post anonymously on the web.

Once again, old girlfriends man...they just can't ever get over the Robster.
