Movie Moan: Johnny Depp IS George Lucas
Queen Kristina said it best:
"When he wasn't a bankable star, he was very, very creative and he was putting all these sort of 'out there' movies, and now that he’s become successful, he's become lazy. And the only person who I can think of to compare him to now is he’s become George Lucas. He's become that guy who has all the money in the world, has all the options in the world...and he decides to make shit."
Harsh words from her Majesty and remember this is someone who generally loves Johnny Depp! But can anyone really say she’s wrong?
Elsewhere on this week's Movie Moan podcast, Jamie briefly reviews Final Destination 5 (and gives away the ending, so beware spoiler-sensitive listeners!) and 30 Minutes or Less and Ed gives his quick thoughts on The Devil's Double.
In the week of news, the gang groans at the notion of Austin Powers 4 happening (and contemplate Wayne's World 3 and how Mike Myers could end up on network television in five years), Disney pulling the plug on The Lone Ranger (Hence why the above-quote comparing Johnny Depp to a certain Star Wars creator), Stephen King's The Stand being turned into a movie trilogy and whether or not a Batman/Superman movie will ever make it to the big screen.

pleeeeease do something about evening out the audio levels, it's not so much fun having to turn it up to hear kristina and then turning it up even more for ed only to have to quickly turn it way down when jamie does his interrupting schtick.
thanks guys.
Dear jamie, during your defense of twilight and it's writer, were you infact implying that the Transformers series doesn't receive any criticism and that it doesn't because it's for guys?
Seriously?
@craig209 Your absolutely right! People, mostly critics bash guy movies alot.
Anyway I can't wait for Phil to come back next week! Movie Moan really lacks heart without Mr Gee. No offense to Jamie, Kristina and Captain Ed.
I'm with Jamie on Austin Powers 4. It's not needed but I would like Mike Myers do something new and fresh.
A Superman/Batman film is needed! Why? It's the 2 biggest superhero names ever! But Warner Bros should only do it if Man of Steel is a hit and Christian Bale is still Batman. Bale will do it if Nolan is still a producer. This would breaks Avatar's record if the general audience likes it of course.
@ Jimmy
We are sorry if you've been finding the show a pain to listen to. This is entirely my fault. We recognised back when we revamped the show that the audio quality needed sorting out and I usually put the recording through a start of the art post production process before it is released.
I just haven't been around to do it. As of the next show, however, I am back and we'll get the quality right.
