Movie Moan: It's Soooooooooo 'Re!'

We at the Movie Moan podcast felt there needed to be a change. No, no, Daddy isn't going to live someplace else and it wasn't your fault, honey. But it's time to spice up the show or reboot, restart, revamp, re-whatever-term-you-prefer.

Now you have the option of listening to us through the usual MP3 link below or watching us above as a audio-visual spectacular.  Here's what's on the agenda for this week:

5 mins - Spoiler-heavy discussion over Source Code.

14 mins - Will Star Trek 2 make its Summer 2012 release date?

23 mins - Reactions to that Green Lantern footage.

26:30 mins - Concerns over changes made to Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part II.

35:30 mins -  The thought of a Justice League movie in 2013 with alternate Superman and Batman actors.

44 mins - 'The Moan Of The Week' -  Equilibrium.

Thank you Dark_B.

The video version is now live so be sure to give it a try.

One thing you'll find about the revamped show is that sometimes you won't hear everybody giving their opinion on a topic because that's one of the things that was making the show too fat.

Besides, my opinion is the correct one so why should anyone else get a word in :)

Welcome back guys! I honestly tought you guys killed Movie Moan. Phew! Keep the video podcast its great this is exactly what Movie Moan needed.

I don't care for Star Trek 2. The Amazing Spider-man will be way better. I'm talking to you Jamie Williams! :)

The Green Latern footage looks awful not looking foward it it at all.

I don't know about Harry Potter. Hopefully it's good.

As for the Justice League movie in 2013 w/o Bale or Cavill sounds just plain retarted. Makes no damn sense!

Wow it surprised me that you guys liked Equilibrium I thought it was a piece of crap.

PS: The movie I'm looking foward the most this year is coming out tomorrow. Sceam 4! Oh yeah it's gonna be awesome! I hope.

A2THEH, it's been too long.

Thanks for your compliment about the video. Just that one statement makes it all worth the effort and makes us feel that we're doing the right thing.

It doesn't sound as if Scream 4 is going to be awesome though.

Great jobs guys! Love the new look. Great discussion about Equilibrium too.

For the record, loved the Green Lantern footage. Looks like a lot of fun and the decision to CGI the Lantern suit makes sense now in light of the scenes with all the other GLs. This will be a big hit with the family crowd.

Great podcast. I love the changes. The video, retro opening, music, commercials, etc are all great. The sound effects and other "highlights" of punchlines and comments work very well. I also like the addition of the "Moan Of The Week" into the podcast. I think you're on the right track and I'll be interested to see how it continues to evolve. Great work!

@Phil Gee I saw Scream 4 this past weekend and I gotta say not as great as I hoped for but still enjoyable. If anyone is a fan of horror and the Scream franchise it's worth checking out. Oh and btw I'm shocked at the disappointing boxoffice results. So no new trilogy I guess. :(

I almost passed this by, but there was something that got my attention: Equilibrium. So I had to give this a listen.

I'm slightly siding with Jamie here because it seems he is the only one who even seemed to remotely dislike it. Furthermore, he is spot on. For evidence, remember Kurt Williams following pic as a writer-director? Ultraviolet.
In other words, when it comes to the sci-action, it is clearly the director attempting to be stylish. In Equilibrium, I remember he first time I saw the film - in theatres and I *hated* the film for that reason. I also found the film depressing. I wanted to get into this film not because of The Matrix, but because it sounded like a bit of Fahrenheit 451- not just the Ray Bradbury novel but also the film version directed by François Truffaut . In fact, it did borrow elements from not only Bradbury, but George Orwell's 1984 as well.

As far as topping the Matrix? I dig the Matrix films, but Daid Cronenberg's eXisTenZ and Alex Proyas' Dark City does it in spades. Still, I'm shocked that you guys even mildly liked Wimmer's film; I thought it was a nifty idea and a good bit of acting on Sean Bean's part, but everytime there was a moment to reflect and get to the story, there was a close range martial arts gunfight which took e out of the film. Christian Bale was wooden as oak in the film; Taye Diggs even more so. I hated the film.

Be glad I wasn't part of your podcast. I would have given off a rant-lynching that would have collasped the walls of Vahalla.

:(
