The Movie Moan Holiday Gift Guide Special 2010
For the majority of this week's Movie Moan, the gang (Phil, Queen Kristina, Ed, Lou & Jamie) do a special Holiday Gift Guide Special where they discuss what items to purchase, ranging from stuff in existence to those that sadly aren't. So yes, this is our longest podcast yet.
But for those of you good listeners in the mood for just movie-news and random bullshit, then you'll enjoy the first hour. Her Majesty gives her thoughts on Tangled and Faster. Indeed, even her love for Dwayne Johnson can only go so far. After all that talk of The Beaver, not only will it finally be released next spring, but a trailer was released – to a resounding "Meh!"
James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be the new Oscar hosts, which leads to a conversation not only about whether they'll deliver, but Oscar predictions in general this year. Also up for discussion are Superman (Hans Zimmer composing the reboot and if only an American should play the title role) and James Bond (David Arnold and Kate Winslet, strangely, says it's happening for 2012) updates and Tron: Legacy's troubling early reviews and box-office tracking.
And of course, they chat up the passing of both comic-legend Leslie Nielsen and director Irvin Kershner. They will be missed!

Another great podcast, and put me down for one of those Superman footage sets!
Damn, this podcast was almost as long as Avatar!
Phil, does Graham Bright ever explain why video nasties were so detrimental to a dog's health on that doc?
Ha ha ha, I'm afraid not Welshfilmbuff, though that fascinating statistic is mentioned. It's more about exposing the bollocks of it all.
I must apologize btw because there will not be a 'moan of the week' since our show rang long and everyone had to go. We will definately be doing it next week and the written version of the gift guide will be up tonight.
Damn! That's a missed opportunity :-( It takes a truly warped mind to say something like that with a straight face!
Nonetheless, I might pick up two coppies ; one for me and the other for a friend who's really into trash cinema.
