Green Goblin Officially Revealed for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

Admit it.  This picture just scared the shit out of you.

Yup, that's Dane DeHaan as Norman Osborn AKA the Green Goblin, and I think we can all agree, that's a hell of a lot better than Willem Dafoe ever looked.

With the final trailer that came out last week and the release of this absolutely terrifying picture, my interest in seeing this film is ever so slightly ticking up.

    The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 2D, 3D, and 3D IMAX theaters May 2nd.

Peter Parker continues to struggle with balancing his life as a high school student and his responsibilities as Spider-Man. When Peter begins to investigate more about his father's past, thanks to the help of his friend Harry Osborn, he begins to realize that the new threats of Electro and the Rhino all have one thing in common: OsCorp.

New Trailer & Poster for 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

When the first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past hit several months back, a good amount of fans were disappointed by the lack of action, specifically, no look at the long-awaited Sentinels.

Low and behold, the film's newest trailer has been unleashed and not only do we get an almost spoiler-ish look at the big fellas, but also an idea of the level of size and scope Bryan Singer has gone for (and even with this, I'm sure a lot's being held back).

A new poster has also been released as well which shows the dwindling talent level in this line-of-work nowadays.  Seriously, it looks like a 12 year-old photoshopped this thing.  Posters for both the original X-Men and X2: X-Men United were far better than this, and that was over well over 10 years ago.

    See for yourself.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from "X-Men: First Class," in an epic battle that must change the past -- to save our future.

The film hits theaters in 2D and 3D May 23rd.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Cast Humorously Responds to 'Batman/Superman' Situation

In case anyone didn't know, last week Marvel Studios announced they would be releasing Captain America 3 on May 6th, 2016.

While that sounds great and all, the problem is that Warner Bros. is also set to release their still untitled Batman/Superman film that same day as well (after originally be scheduled for July 2015).

A lot's been made about the situation, with many debates raging online over which studio will blink first and movie their film (I personally think Warner Bros. will just move the release date to July 22nd, 2017 as that weekend's been pretty much their bread and butter anyway).

With all that said, the cast and crew of Captain America: The Winter Soldier was asked about what they think of the whole situation and their response was...amusing to say the least.

What do you all think will eventually be the outcome of this?

    Sound off below.

Universal Moves 'Everest' to September 18th, 2015

Potentially feeling confident they have an Oscar contender on their hands, Universal Pictures has moved their survival drama, Everest, from February 27, 2015 to September 18th, 2015.

Directed by Baltasar Kormakur (2 Guns, Contraband) the films centers on two separate expeditions who struggle to scale the world's tallest mountain during one of the worst snow storms ever.

The film has some big names involved, including Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, and Jake Gyllenhaal (was a first name starting with the letter J a criteria?).

The studio will also be releasing the film in 3D and IMAX 3D, but considering the type of flick this sounds like, it certainly seems warranted.

Read the film's official synopsis below:

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind.  Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.  The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal.  They are joined by Martin Henderson, Emily Watson, Michael Kelly and Thomas M. Wright.

EVEREST is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Nicky Kentish Barnes and Kormákur.  Universal Pictures and Cross Creek Pictures’ presentation of EVEREST—in association with Walden Media—is adapted for the screen by Mark Medoff (Children of a Lesser God) and Oscar® winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire).  The film is shooting on location in Nepal on the foothills of Everest, the Italian Alps and at Cinecittà Studios in Rome and Pinewood Studios in the U.K.  Universal will distribute the film worldwide.

Fox Enlists David James Kelly to Script 'Wolverine' Sequel

With a release date of March 3rd, 2017 announced just a few days back, 20th Century Fox has now brought in little-known screenwriter David James Kelly (not to be confused with TV producer David E. Kelley) to script the sequel to last year's The Wolverine.

Looking at Kelly's filmography, he only has a short film called Straw Man back in 2010 to his credit (which he also directed and produced), but he did in fact work on the Daredevil reboot when it was being developed my David Slade in 2012.

Both franchise star Hugh Jackman and The Wolverine director James Mangold are expected to return.

I liked The Wolverine, but felt it had a lot more potential to be better than it was.  It seemed as if the studio pushed less down the creative team's throat than say X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but still felt it was a missed opportunity.

Hopefully Fox gives Mangold and Jackman (and this new screenwriter, Kelly) more creative freedom to do what they wants this time.

David Fincher Will Direct Steve Jobs Biopic On One Condition: Christian Bale Stars

So it seems all this talk going around David Fincher directing the Steve Jobs biopic for Sony, reteaming him with his The Social Network writer, Aaron Sorkin, was a bit premature.

Turns out the man has yet to sign on the dotted line, and has a major condition that must be met before he puts pen to paper:  Christian Bale must play Steve Jobs.

Reportedly, Fincher recently met with the head of Sony, Amy Pascal, and made it very clear that the only way he'll direct the film is if Bale plays Jobs.  Just him, no one else.

Not for nothing, but that's a pretty damn fine compliment for Bale considering a guy like Fincher could probably pick whomever he wants for the role but has only him in mind.

It's not known yet if Bale is interested as he's taking a break from acting right now to spend time with his family; however, the actor has a good relationship with Sony after just making American Hustle and scoring an Oscar nom for Best Actor.

All in all, I say Bale agrees to star by mid-year with production on the film starting early next year with Fincher at the helm for a prime 2016 release.

    We'll keep you posted.

Final Trailer for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

Below, you will find the final trailer Sony has released for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Has the promotion for ths film been overblown?  Yes.

Is this not the millionth damn trailer that's been released?  Yes.

Has pretty much the whole movie been given away at this point?  More than likely, yes.

But you know what?  This trailer actually got me interested to see it because, from a visual perspective, it looks absolutely - for lack of a better word - amazing.  And yeah, even the story has me slightly curious too.

We shall see, because if this thing doesn't nail it, those cries for Tobey and Sam will just get louder and louder.

That Amazing Spider-Man 2 - directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, B.J. Novak, and Felicity Jones - opens May 2nd.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

Zhang Yimou to Direct Legendary's 'Great Wall'

You may recall a couple years back when Edward Zwick (The Last Samurai) was set to helm The Great Wall for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, telling the story of two traveling British soldiers (Henry Cavill & Benjamin Walker) in 15th century China who witness the construction of what will be known as the Great Wall, only to learn its purpose is not to keep out humans, but terrifying creatures.

Long story short, the project fell apart.

Now though, Legendary Pictures (no longer working under Warners) wants to put the project back together and have hired one of China's own greatest living directors:  Zhang Yimou.

Not known to many here in the States, this man has directed such notable films as Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Flowers of War (starring Christian Bale), as well as the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

He's long looked to make his transition to American film, and this certainly seems to be a perfect fit for him.

The project will undergo a rewrite - being overseen by Legendary CEO Thomas Tull who conceived the film's premise with World War Z writer Max Brooks - and it's not known if the 'supernatural' element will remain, but the premise will stay the same:  the mystery and secret origin behind the Great Wall.

More on this project as it becomes available.

    Arnold Schwarzenegger Talks 'Terminator: Genesis'

Out promoting his new film, Sabotage, Arnold Schwarzenegger obviously took time to chime in on the upcoming Terminator: Genesis, which will mark his 4th time (5th if you count his CGI'ed face in Terminator Salvation) playing the famous 'cybernetic organism'.

It's almost astonishing to think the original film came out 30 years ago this October, but here we are with the legendary action star still going strong and committed to staying as the face of the franchise.

*This interview was conducted by the great folks over at Collider so I just wanted to give them the proper acknowledgement and thanks before posting anything.*

Schwarzenegger on why he decided to return to the franchise:

I think that it’s just so wild to have a franchise that has been around for that long, and then after 30 years, to get asked again to be the only character in a movie that is the same character is unheard of, in movie history.  You always switch out, like with James Bond and Batman.  They have new characters there.  But, not here.  That, to me, is an extraordinary situation and a great opportunity.  Of course, I was honored when I was asked to come back and play the character with Sarah Connor.  It was the same when Universal called and said, “We want to do the sequel to Twins.”  That’s 25 years later, after it came out.  And 34 or 35 years later, after doing Conan, they’ve come back and said that they want me to play Conan.  Not to be one of the villains in Conan, like the usually do, but to play Conan.

It’s great because I’ve stayed in physical shape, and they see me in different movies and on social media and with all the stuff that I do.  I’m still on the cover of the muscle magazines.  So, they say, “We can still have this guy fight with a sword for 10 hours a day, do horseback riding, and all of these things.  We can have him star in Conan.”  It’s really unusual.  That’s never, ever happened, that I’m aware of, in the history of these kinds of things, where you can lead a franchise like that and be the star, at this age.  That just shows you that, if you have the attitude of a young person and you work like a young person and you keep your body in shape, and if you believe that you can do it, then you can actually make other people also believe that you can do it.

On if the film will keep its current title and what fans can expect from this new entry:

I don’t know what the final title is going to be.  As you can see with Sabotage, when I read the script, it was called Ten.  You never know.  Today, studios switch titles because everything has been tested.  They’ll give an audience five titles, and then they’ll pick one.  ButTerminator is going to have the exact same feel.  The way it reads, it has the same feel of Terminator 2.  It’s big.  There’s hardcore action and it has some really great visual effects in there, but not over the top.  It’s not a Thor type of movie, even though it’s the same director.  It has good special effects, but just enough to say, “Wow, where did that come from?  How did they do that?”

Besides the fact that it seems this new film is going for a style similar to T2 along with wanting to keep the action practical (like Thor: The Dark World), it's great to hear a guy like Schwarzenegger speak so confident about his abilities even at his age.  I strongly believe this guy is going to prove a lot of people wrong (like he's been doing his whole life).

Sienna Miller Joins Clint Eastwood's 'American Sniper' Opposite Bradley Cooper

After coming down to herself and Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Sienna Miller has landed the female lead in Clint Eastwood's American Sniper, staring Bradley Cooper.

The film - based on the true story of Chris Kyle, a now deceased Navy Seal who had the most confirmed sniper kills in U.S. military history - is set to start shooting next month.

Miller would play Kyle's wife, Tara, who's forced to raise his children alone as her husband's overseas fighting the enemy.

Eastwood had spent the last week deciding between the two actresses, but ultimately settled on Miller, whose seemingly on a hot streak of late with upcoming roles in both Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher and the Vince Vaughn comedy (probably another dud though) Business or Pleasure.

Cooper is also producing through his 22nd and Indiana production company with a release date eyed for next year.
