New Super Marios Bros & Rayman Sequel Coming?

The awesome dudes over at Destructoid discuss New Super Marios Bros 2 for the 3DS and a sequel to Rayman Origins. I have to admit, I'm not a huge handheld game guy. Not that there is anything wrong with that, just not my thing. However, anything Mario related, I actually feel a twinge of excitement, despite being of the handheld variety.

On another note, I love Destructoid. From the layout to the logo. A legoish inspired robot? Yes please. Check the video below.

Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition Features New Content

December was the last time Rocksteady released any DLC for the hugely popular Arkham City. Other than visiting Calendar Man to hear him babble on the major holidays, the Arkham addicts haven't had much of a fix to hold them over until the next possible game is announced. Today brought the news of a "Game of the Year" edition of the featuring a ton of goodies added in and the biggest prize is the final chapter of the game called Harley Quinn's Revenge. If you already own the game the new content will be available through the store in whichever console you own. The GOTY version also includes all previously released DLC & a download of the animated movie, Batman: Year One.

Superherohype has a little more information on what to expect with the newest DLC:

The "Harley Quinn’s Revenge" mission sends players back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin. Gamers must utilize each of the characters' unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley's vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever. n addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs.

It's great to see expansion on the entire gaming experience rather than just on the challenge maps as with the other downloadable stuff. This will give the game even more of an experience to enjoy since most of us have went through this game more than 3 times.

The game and the new DLC will be released on May 29th. Check out a shot of Harley Quinn's new look.

Lego Batman: 2 DC Super Heroes

If the first Lego Batman wasn't fun enough for you, then this trailer should win you over to join in on an already fun franchise. It looks like they have improved every aspect of the game with visuals, added characters, and possibly small tweaks on the gameplay. As my bro-in-law mentioned to me, things get epic when a short silence comes over the footage and the opening of John Williams' Superman theme blasts through, showing Supes hovering in the air. The addition of Superman alone is enough to get me even more excited about this game. This opens up the potential for an all Superman adventure the next time and hopefully more DC characters to follow.

Sony Laughs At Cubs' Fans In New MLB The Show Commercial

I am a Red Sox fan, so I know what it is like to be a Cubs fan. Your sports fanboy dreams crushed over and over again. The broken remotes, the broken hearts. Well, at least up until 2004 when the Red Sox won the World Series. Then again in 2007. Boston has sort of turned into the city of Champions over the last 10+ years with all four major sports teams winning at least one championship in that time period.

Apparently Sony likes to rub some salt in the wounds of Cubs' fans with their new commercial which highlights a hypothetical celebration after a Cubs World Series victory. The execution of the ad is fantastic, but Cubs fans might not think so.

    "Goldeneye 64" The Reality Tour

One of my favorite games of all time. My buddies and I would play this game from morning till night. We forgot birthdays, broke up and made up with girls, and played drinking games. Goldeneye 64. If you haven't played it by an Nintendo 64 and get the game. The remakes of the game just aren't the same. You have to go old school.

Enjoy this real life version of the game above as we are taken through one of the frustrating solo missions, which I didn't even care about. Funny nonetheless. Multi-player or bust on this one.

"Dillon's Rolling Western" 3DS Launch Trailer

Dillon's Rolling Western attempts to achieve a streamlined tower defense experience by creating distinct segments for resource gathering, resource selling and then defending your town. The problem with all of this is the game controls poorly and lacks any sort of visual finesse. Levels are vast, plain and completely ordinary, while getting your armadillo hero to move is a chore. Movement and combat is driven through the touch pad by "pulling back" with the stylus and releasing, but in practice this only works so well. Trying to tap or hold to attack once you're moving doesn't work very well, making every activity you do an exercise in patience. (Review VIA IGN)

Kinect Star Wars Will Turn Your Child Into A Homicidal Tyrant

Microsoft has unleashed another trailer for the upcoming Kinect Star Wars game, and unlike the recent Duel trailer that featured an appearance by Darth Vader, this trailer has Vader's role being played by a little girl in a recreation of the "I find your lack of faith disturbing" scene from the original film.

You can check out the trailer here, courtesy of Digital Spy:

That kid is having wayyy too much fun choking those Imperials, although, if Force-choking is indeed a feature of Kinect Star Wars, that will be awesome.

Kinect Star Wars arrives in stores on April 3rd.
